Did I say that 1500 people had made the journey from Wigan?
Remember…I deal in facts, not bullshit.
No Photograph of your ticket and seat today you phoney bastard, sorry I forgot you are probably in Australia watching that other team you pretend to watch.I wasn’t there. Nor did I claim to be there. Nor am I with the 1500 or so Wigan fans on the other side of the world at the moment.
Were you one of the 500 who went to Cardiff yesterday, or are you still
It was 16,000 actually.
Here’s a few reasons why the crowd was so low:
1. Its the 8th time that Sunderland have been drawn at home in a cup competition this season.
2. It was a foul day weather-wise.
3. It was on TV.
4. Gus Poyet had already made it known that he would be fielding a team with the fringe players.
5. 31000 people have shelled out up to £100 each for tickets and travel for the Capital one Cup Final in a fortnight.
Now, on the numbers game, are you aware that 16,000 is still a larger number than the entire number of Wigan fans who have watched their team in 4 FA Cup ties this season?
I thought we discussed this and found loan players were ineligible under FA rules.Best get that winners medal back from Mr Scharner then! ;)
Loanees are allowed to play, as long as they havent played for another club in the competition that season, and with the permission of their parent club.
Danny Graham has played for Hull this season in the FA Cup – Sunderland gave permission, whereas Connor Wickham wasnt allowed to play for Sheffield Wed.
As Man Utd are already out, they are unlikely to refuse permission for Zaha’s involvement.
A window at Hillsborough? I thought the fans sat in the stand above the Leppings Lane end.
#Notsuchanuberfanafterall. :P
Is it cold there?
I wasn’t there. Living over 150 miles away from Wigan and having a full-time job means I don’t get to many Fri night games. However, I am fortunate enough to be attending a course not far from Wigan over March & April and should be able to attend home fixtures over that period.
I’ll take your ramblings as an admission that yet again the “bullshit call” backfired. Maybe you should have realised by now that unlike many bullshitters on here, I tend not to make claims I cannot back up.
No need to show your arse over the River Douglas either.
While your answering that one, which stand are you sitting in tomorrow at the stadium of light.
Tell you what – I’ll change my avtar tomorrow to a picture of the Sunderland v Hull game today, taken from my seat.
Then you can digest a large dose of humble pie.
See ya tomorrow big gob.
Don’t put it on your avatar muttyshite just upload the picture normally as a jpeg file, that way we can all see the properties of the picture showing when it was taken.
While your at it can you post a picture of a view from your seat last night, you seem to have missed telling us where you was sitting in your reply.
Oh dear. Wasn’t it you that tried calling “Bullshit” with respect to what I did for a living and where I was located a few years ago?
Here you go:

16,000 on not bad for friday a good five thousand from hudersfield if not more
great resultIn case you were not aware, the 5000 in the South Stand is a home end for rugby. The 1500 or so Huddersfield fans were at the other end.
Lets hope for a Huddersfield double this weekend.
You avoided actually answering!
Where will you be on Good Friday Egg?
It clashes with the saints v wigan derbyA bold move by the club, as it will undoubtedly have an effect on those supporters who follow both soccer and rugby, but may well give Wigan and Reading an advantage over their Easter Monday opponents.
Question for Egg – If they both kick off in the afternoon, which fixture will you be attending?
All down to advertising revenue Tez. TV companies couldn’t give a toss who won the cup last year – they are only interested in how many people will watch their next production. Every one of those ties above has more lure to the armchair fan than “bottom of the premier league at home to mid-table championship side”.
As you say though – there’s always the quarters, and I think all the games are televised from that point on!
Yes it was our semi final attendance against Arsenal in the League Cup. About 7500 below our average league attendance at the time. How many lower than their average league attendance was Sunderland’s semi final gate?12,181 was actually 8,428 less than the average crowd of 20,069 that season, which equates to 59%.
The crowd of 31,547 was around 76.5% of the current average of 41,240.
Are you one of the 177?
Regards Mutty and his crowd comments……Did you watch the 1st leg of the League Cup semi? Was it fancy dress?Yes, they came dressed as the missing 18,000 Wigan fans. Regrettably though 31,000 didn’t get their invitation in time and turned up dressed as football supporters.
Does the number 12181 ring any bells?
