He was never gonna be found anything other than guilty. The Yanks do not let their idols character be dirtied.Just as Jackson was never gonna be found guilty of child abuse.

Im posting this out of sheer devilment . This is what i think will happen,

Bob will be strategically moved upstairs

Barrow and Jones will be canned

A new manager will be employed on the cheap

No players will be signed in Jan with the management blaming our lowly league position as the reason though every thing has been done to sign quality internationals

We will be relegated long before the end of the season

The new manager will carry the can and be promptly sacked

Bob will be re-instated as the mesiah who can get the club back to the big league and will bring back his trusty sidekicks alias Barrow and Jones

The lightside and darkside will renew hostilities

As you can probably tell i havent quite got over Sundays result yet, Sorry ;)

All pointless posts methinks, Martinez will be in charge v Blackburn Mr Whelans team. Hope im wrong coz tonight im heartbroken and ashamed(Alcaraz) the lowest ive felt in 42 years as a fan.

Well you cheered me up Griff after all the negative Undertones since the Fulham game. The Propaganda from some on here is Garbage. All the Martinez out Proclaimers should chill a bit.Emotions are running high but if RM can iron out a few Kinks then we may Breath a bit better. We may not agree with our management team but they are Wigans Chosen Few. Who knows if the team puts in a great shift they may become Boyz 2 men overnight. We aint been used to playing on Sundays but if the La,s do it they be witness a very rare Wigans Ovation for once ;)

I would love to think it was more a case of RM being a bit inexperienced rather than simply not good enough. One thing we cannot argue with is his stubborness which someone with a lot more nous may make him see his mistakes. I doubt Barrow and Jones have the neccessary clout within the management structure to make Bobby change. Both Bruce and PJ had previous top flight experience and we all saw what happened to Hutchings.Im desperate for Bobby to succeed but i just dont see it happening with the trio we have at present.

in reply to: Attention !! Bob’s Odds Have Tumbled Significantly #73208

Bobs odds may have come down from 16-1 to 4-1 at Bet Fred, Paddy Power etc but at Whelans wagers he is still at longer odds than Sir Alex. ;)

in reply to: who is worst ever latics manager since joining the #73184

Im with Tyldesley on this one, statistically Deehan wasnt the worst but surely the most hateful.Straight out of the David Speedie i could start a fight in a phonebox school for head-the-balls.Numerous stories around of players coming to blows with this mon especially Colin Greenhall.Saw him a few years after he left us at a Wolves v Norwich game and i nearly got clod out for venting my spleen at the horrible get.Disliked by many was a real piece of work.

Good shout Appley mon and i posted the same months ago.I just wished he had a decent mentor to seek advice in times such as now someone with vast knowledge and experience. Even if it was in a short term consultancy role to get RM moving in the right direction to becoming a really good manager. A Frank Macklintock / George Graham type who has been around the top level for yonks.

Pointless really coz Mr Whelan wont get rid of RM.And in all honesty who could do what is an impossible job?

Griff, when you read the posts on here for many fans it will be a total disaster as many of our younger fans have only seen top flight football. From a personal point being a lifelong fan of 40odd year your spot on. The championship is still a hell of a level for us to be at and i have said on here many times our finances will not see us sustain Premiership football.Mr Whelan has played an enormous part in me being on an amazing footballing journey which not too many fans will witness.I will not slag him off like some on here coz i know how bad it was in the really dark days and how close we came to folding. Its probably because he is such a brilliant businessman that he keeps a tight rein on finances which is why he constantly gets castagated on here. But as a fan who didnt want Bobby in the first place simply becaused i idolised him as a player and was afraid this would happen.I just wished Mr Whelan would have picked someone else.I hate feeling like this and its selfish of me coz ive seen so much success over the years and the club dont deserve all this negativity.

Mr Whelan has painted himself into a corner i feel with his comments. How can he say to the world that “the job is Roberto,s for however long he wants it” then again last season at Stoke he said “even if we go down Roberto will still be the manager” then sack the guy? Simple, he cannot and save face. Im a huge fan of Mr Whelan but he is blinkered when it comes to Roberto,s management skills and simply wont have anything bad said about him. In his time here Mr Whelan has helped to pull off one of footballs greatest miracles in getting Wigan Athletic into the big time.He has not made too many mistakes along the way but the one he is making now will be a total disaster for this club and will undo the wonderful work he himself has done.He isnt even doing Roberto any favours really cos his credibility is being eroded with each defeat.Who will want him as manager if this goes on for too much longer? Sorry guys but we are in a real bad position here and im really afraid that change will not be coming soon unless both owner and manager can somehow come out of this with reputations still intact.

Our stay in the Prem was always going to be shorter rather than longer. I think we have done remarkable to stay there so long. Its no longer about how good are your players manager etc, its now how rich are your owners and how many millions can you spend. We have not the resources of most of the other teams and can never expect to have a huge fanbase in an area surrounded by 4 of the biggest clubs in Britain. I just hope that we dont get embarrassed and if we do go down then lets go fighting. Bob clearly isnt the man to do what is an impossible job in all honesty but then again who else could?

A result like that doesnt come along too often so lets revel in the moment. Bet Fergie,s face is redder than normal and the hairdryer will be in overdrive.
