I would be for safe standing but it would mean most grounds would have to have major building work done to accomodate terracing. Modern stadia are designed for seats and therefore the steps are too steep to use as standing areas. I doubt it could be adapted without knocking down a whole stand at most grounds. It would be great to bring back the atmosphere standing brings but at what cost to the clubs? Will the powers that be allow it unless they can be sure we dont go back to the dark days.
LMB mate we havent ever played them unfortunately super little ground and were gonna be the next Wigan Athletic untill the man behind Doc Martins Griggs i think his name was pulled the plug. They havent been in existence that long and we havent played either Rushden Town or Irthlingborough Diamonds who merged to form the said club.
if Spurs cock up they will be in the fair play qualifiers and will start the new season in June so you would think this is a must win game for them tho as we know Spurs can balls it up with the best of them at times
Im glad Dave,s calm coz im crappin mi,sel
from behind the sofa knee deep in shredded finger nails
well my maths are better than his coz he states if us or Blackpool lose then we are relegated, err i dont think so we can lose and stay up if Brum and Pool lose heavy and we dont
will Utds 2nd string be capable of winning 4 or 5-0 which the first team are certainly and which we may need?
Just thinking If we do get relegated, how many people behind the scenes at Wigan Athletic will lose their jobs??
For some people it won’t be just the disappointment of being relegated it will be a case of losing their livelihood.
It will be a p..s take if anyone loses their jobs as the reason being the Chairman wouldnt make the only change needed to keep us in with a chance of staying up.
if we are relegated the in the words of brian clough ” just weren’t good enough”trouble is the players are probably good enough they were simply managed poorly
i agree but you know he aint gonna change his way of managing so the longer he remains here the lower we will sink
hope your wrong griff, couldnt stomach another 12 month of this mon
We aint had 2 wins on the trot in 2 seasons so im afraid its a big ask, normally draws against Everton and Villa would be good results but we have simply left it too late to improve and so these draws are gonna see us go down i fear. We simply cant win games for whatever reasons.
Well we will all know soon whether Martinez is up to the job wont we then all this bloody bickering can stop. We all support the same club tho you wouldnt think so reading the posts on here. If we go then he aint up to it if we miraculously survive then he is. Lets wait till after the Stoke game have one hell of a slanging match then all make up and forget this season and move on.We all have our different oppinions thats why football is the greatest sport in the world but some on here will be proved right and some will be proved wrong so lets see who eh? :angry-soapbox:
Bob, i lived in Nuneaton far too long and missed being home every single day. I did hear that someone else from there was a Latics fan but never met him or saw him on the way to games. In the past i always came up on the train until it got too expensive and also they took Nuneaton station off the main west coast line stops and so i had to change trains which was a pain. I never met any other fans going to Springy/ JJB/DW from there. Dont you know his full name or what part of Nuneaton he lived?.
Ive always had a problem with this question. Football is game of 11 positions so how do you compare how one player can be better than another say George Best or Gordon Banks?. Most pundits will say its about beating the best and winning trophys so poor George wouldnt get a mention coz he didnt do it in a world cup. Surely the question should be categorised best forward, defender etc. Someone has stated that Maradonna took the Argies and won the world cup yes he did and Pele won 2. So how do you tell who is the greatest ever? Well if you listen to the so called experts and say it was Maradonna or Pele for their World cup wins or Johan Cruyff for his European cups or Franz Beckenbaur for his times with Germany then their really is only one player who can be in the frame for it. The player with more medals than Albert Trotter. It can only be Paulo Maldini.
