Has Lisa Nandy actually spoken to the Spanish ?To me , their proposals seem very sensible. She seems blinkered in her opinion that we need local ownership.I don’t suppose it has occurred to her that certain local parties might have ulterior motives.

My preference would be to let the Spaniards take over. They are proper football people,I think under them we could slowly but surely move forward .If a Wigan born business man had genuine interest in Wigan Athletic he should have put his cards on the table months ago ,for me it’s too late in the day and smacks of desperation .Why should the Spanish “move over”? They have done everything right it’s the EFL that’s been delaying the process .I just wonder if someone with EFL connections has been whispering in their ear ?Someone let’s say ,who would love to have control of the stadium and also have their foot on our throat to keep us permanently in Division One /Two.
Really have my doubts about his ability to manage and organise players. He can certainly spot potential in players and in my opinion would be an ideal coach in our youth set up ,which is where our future lies.
Caldwell as a replacement for Sheridan is a definite no from me.He is more suited as a coach /scout.He brought some good players to Wigan the problem was he could not manage them.
I am no Sheridan fan ,he has made some big mistakes but my main concern is that the administration is dragging on and on and is sucking the life out of what’s left of our great club. We will continue to plummet as long as we are in this perilous position ,who ever the manager might be. We need to get this sale over the line, maybe then ,our senior players might return.
I am not completely blaming Sheridan.Lets face it ,it was a thankless task. The administrators absolutely decimated the first team squad. My main concern is that the few experienced players we have left seem to have picked up mysterious injuries. They might be genuine ,however ,if there is something more sinister going on then we really do have a problem.
Hope I am wrong but distinctly underwhelmed by this news.Feels like we are kicking the can down the road.
I agree with you Sammy but when you look on other clubs forums and they are discussing Wigan it always seems to be why do the Latics fans hate the rugby so much ? We know it’s the other way around but with threads like this one and on other forums it only goes to justify their misguided opinion that we are the ones with a chip on our shoulder.
You might be right Bullitt but it’s how we are perceived by other clubs. We all know how it is in Wigan with the biased press etc but to anyone looking in from the outside it comes across as petty jealousy. As I say we are better than that ,let’s just enjoy the victory ,hope the takeover goes smoothly and then as we move back up the leagues we can bask in the glory and there’s nothing our Rugby neighbours or the press can do about it.
I am no fan of Wigan Warriors or Rugby League for that matter but some comments on here and other forums shows a real lack of class from Wigan Athletic fans.Let’s not stoop to such levels ,we are better than that.
I would like to see some of that money go to the new phoenix Macclesfield Town AFC.Really gutted for their fans ,have a real affinity to what their going through. Also remember going there in the Northern Premier League.
So when the new bidder drops out this week will Krasner blame himself for breaching the NDA ?
Got a horrible feeling the admin are now manoeuvring into a position where they have to liquidate us ( mission accomplished ! ).I don’t like today’s comments where they say they are quietly confident of starting the season. To me , they are indicating there is an element of doubt. If this is the case ,they should not be allowed to get away with it.The admin have been a big part of the problem since the 01/07.Krasner and half wit Stanley’s only motivation has been to line their own pockets and not to secure the future of our great club.
I am appalled by both the administrators and the potential buyers. This great club of ours has been completely humiliated by their antics .I feel the best option now is to start again as A F C Wigan Athletic run by the supporters. It may take us ten years to get back into the league ,but we will do it .I expected some skulldugerry from the admin but can’t understand why genuine potential buyers would leave it so late ( it’s too late now in my opinion ).
