There’s only two things that motivate footballers these days – money and ambition. Supporters noise counts for nowt.

If you think back to the great escapes from the PL it wasn’t the few hundred Wigan fans at the emirates in April 2012 that caused us to win – it was the mentality of the players who wanted to keep their big salaries and a fixture at the emirates the following season.

If this bunch are happy to be back on league 1 wages next season playing the likes of Fleetwood, Southend & Gillingham in front of about 6000 at the DW on a wet Wednesday, then they are going about it the right way.

If however, they like their current salary and enjoy playing at places like Newcastle, Villa & Leeds and then having these clubs coming to a much fuller DW, then they really need to start performing like they want to.

And they say there’s no passion in the West Stand….!

There’s plenty of passion in the West Stand, that’s were the majority of the discontent came from towards the manager on Saturday.[/quote]

Of course it does. There’s little point in telling the owner’s grandson to sack the manager from the back of the South or Boston Stands, as it truly will fall on deaf ears.

Cupwinners where did I say ALL our fans were the worst. I’m on about a sizeable majority,in fact I think disproportionately so, Not all.

Of course you didn’t say ALL, as that would have included YOU.

Nobody’s likely to start a thread and say “I’m the worst supporter in the country” ;)

Blind faith is what you have just described and if you are quite happy for ‘Your Club’ as you put it to wallow in the lower leagues with fuck all money and a danger of actually going to pot one day

Wont happen. Dave loves us too much to sell up, and Donny has already calculated he could fund it for £5m a year for almost 80 years!

The 10,000 or so glory hunters are the worst supporters in the country, having seen WAFC as some sort of novelty toy before turning their back on the club in favour of their armchairs.

Of the rest, once you’ve discounted the 2-3,000 who leave early (probably the same ones who buggered off after the last relegation), you are left with the hard-core, proper supporters. Those who see a 0-0 draw against Forest in a different context, because when Forest were going 42 games unbeaten and winning the European Cup, Wigan were hosting Goole in a piss poor stadium and travelling to Worksop on a wet Wednesday evening. Those fans will continue to be here for a long time to come, and are never going to be the ones who boo a 0-0 draw against a club like Forest.

otherwise there is a long waiting list for anything that is remotely routine ( I speak from recent experience and don’t wish to offend anyone or wish anything unpleasant to happen to Mr Joyce ).

Do you seriously think he uses the NHS?

Whilst obviously wishing him well, health-wise, I would be amazed if this forum takes place later this month unless there is an massive upturn in form. There is no way DS and WJ would want to be in a room full of angry supporters!

                  Already relegated to bench warmer.

                  He wont care.

He’s gone from being a bench warmer at a bottom 3 side to a bench warmer at a top 6 side. He can also spend his time on the bench at Norwich thinking about what to do with the big signing-on fee and pay rise he received.

Yet more proof Yootha is more interested in not losing than in winning.

Some very contradictory quotes in that WEP article:

“But because Buxton has played with an injury, you’re loathe to open it up with 25 minutes to go”

“But if you’d watched him in training on Friday, or even in the warm-up before the game, I didn’t think there was any way he could complete 90 minutes – not a chance”

So why select him in the first place, or more importantly, why make two unenforced substitutions when you knew your vice-captain was crocked before kick-off

So Buxton is crocked, but forced to complete 90 minutes, potentially putting out of action for weeks, yet Bogle is a bit tired, but is replaced with 6 minutes to go in case he got crocked in those final 6 minutes.

“I’m doing it to try and win a game”

Utter Bollocks. He did it to hang onto a point at home to a bottom 6 side who maintain their slight lead above us.

would not be surprised to see it cancelled on last min due to some unexpected buisness…

…and then put back on at 7 hours notice at a completely different venue!

I’m expecting a very direct approach today from Wigan – until Thursday Lunchtime, they were approaching the game thinking that it would take place in a mudbath.

That said, If we don’t win, prepare yourself for the excuse that “we based our tactics all week to play on a quagmire, and it wasn’t, which hindered our style”

Gentlemen the damage is done over the summer months. With rest and maintenance in the summer the surface would be superb throughout the winter and even less pitch renovation work would be needed in the spring.

Playing two friendlies in two days against Man Utd & Liverpool wouldn’t have helped then.

You’re right I guess. Tory Dave will have no doubt cut a deal with the chancellor not to have 40% Inheritance Tax levied on his reputed £190 million worth. My initial statement was based on young Sharpy being left with a percentage of what was left after tax and being split with DW’s children and grandchildren.

When big Dave goes to that Wembley in the sky, Sharpie will have them fat chubby egg chasing cuckoos out !
He t’owd me so in’t Rigbye Arms, after several pints of specky hen.

I reckon he’ll sell up or even give the club away. He’s a young lad and wont want to see his inheritance being spent on subsidising the Latics to the tune of £5 million+ a year. Grandad’s money wont last long if he did.

Seeing as our “talisman goal machine” thinks we play hoof-ball, then not playing on a ploughed field may not be much of an advantage.

If that’s the case, why were two friendlies against Man Utd and Liverpool played on it in two days?
