Well it’s been rescinded now, so that’s another game written off because of a bad decision. Although, I thought the only bad decision was starting with Gomez instead of Boselli anyway………..
Well if you had to rest the main starters/used subs from the last 2 games, what would your starting 11 look like? I’d choose:
Pollitt
Lopez Golobart Mustoe
Stam Fyvie Watson Beausejour (for match fitness)
Miyaichi Boselli McManamanIf that was the lineup though, I’d be very worried about the inexperienced defence. I’m fairly sure that Roberto will start with Jones though
One thing I noticed recently, was that there was not one mention or photo of Roberto in the ‘heart and soul’ pack to renew season tickets that I received. Maybe a ‘just in case’ scenario, but I am pretty sure that 100% of latics fans now want him to stay (which wasn’t always the case)!
The 3 million bid’s been knocked back – according to reports. They’re holding out for 5
Apparently our old Titus got in there 1st though
Good to see we’ve got so much support from other fans. Usual lazy journo. We’ll just have to prove him wrong and get up the journo’s noses for another season. Bring it on!!!!
Thought that was lazy journalism?!
Didn’t a certain Mr Scotland score a few in pre season last year??
Agahowa scored pre season
‘Nuff said
“I’ll be happy to be proved wrong but I’ll be surprised if he’s a success. He’s an out-and-out goalscorer – he doesn’t offer anything outside the penalty area. I suppose you might compare him to Miroslav Klose in a way – not particularly big, strong or skilful but he has that penalty area nose.
With Estudiantes, Boselli was playing in front of the best midfield in South America. So there were lots of chances, he put a few away and his confidence soared. He is now in a much stronger league but not one of the strongest teams. He might struggle – and if he’s not scoring, he doesn’t do much else.”
In one of my bored moments during a lunch break last week I e-mailed the BBC South American football correspondent Tim Vickery just to see how he thought Boselli would do for us this season. Here is his reply:“I’ll be happy to be proved wrong but I’ll be surprised if he’s a success. He’s an out-and-out goalscorer – he doesn’t offer anything outside the penalty area. I suppose you might compare him to Miroslav Klose in a way – not particularly big, strong or skilful but he has that penalty area nose.

I was really excited when I found out we had signed him, and quotes like that take it all away again!
Both Ostersunds goals are on youtube, not Wigans’ though
Pollitt (1st season Pollitt)
Chimbonda Scharner (pre ‘midfielder’) Bramble Baines
Valencia Palacios Cattermole N’Zogbia
Heskey Rodallega
I think this would be a cracking team, although could possibly replace Heskey with a pre Christmas Zaki
James
Johnson – Carragher – King – Cole
Lennon – Milner – Barry – Gerrard
Rooney – Crouch
Would regularly rotate with Joe Cole, Lampard, Walcott with the non-performers
If anyone could find me the full Hull game somewhere then that would be fantastic.
I emailed the Premier League and they told me it’d be £100 per dvd. If Martinez watched dvds of the last 3 seasons like in that interview then that’s a fair bit of cash!
Pollitt (1st season)
Chimbonda Henchoz Scharner Baines
Valencia Palacios Cattermole N’Zogbia
Heskey RodallegaSTOP PLAYING RODALLEGA ON THE RUDDY WING
problem solved
Who would you drop?
