The Brolly Man!When we had the option a few seasons back of Coyle or McClaren, I know which one I would have preferred. And I firmly believe that if Whelan had have chosen the dearer option & met McClaren’s demands, we wouldnt have been celebrating back to back league 1 titles. I don’t think he will go before the next game but if we lose that one he will be on his bike.If you listen to his post match interview, it sounds like he has lost the dressing room IMO! Graham Jones please. No thank you that’s the last person we need to get us away from this one up top negative bilge that’s been the curse over our club for years.
Slaviša Jokanović please. Let’s see football again.
Phil Parkinson anyone? Graham Jones please. More chance of Nelson getting his eye back than us getting Jones. I still think it’s a done deal who is next in.
Not unsworth please!! Finally……looks like there’s a run on similar hymn sheets on here !!And now it’s time for my post! Have you any spare copies of these hymn sheets lying about? I like cook, but the guy clearly is not learning from his mistakes. Even I’m starting to get p155ed off now. Something has to give. In fairness to vat it seems our defending let’s us down yet again. Always gonna get conflicts on forums vat lad and many will agree with what you post and many won’t. It’s the nature of the beast. Everybody on here who post are contributing and keeping CL alive. I’ve been on here since the beginning and it’s become part of me. I have seen many come and disappear from Penelope Pitstop to Less Bagg. All great posters in the past. I miss arky,s tales from the riverbank and his fishy puns griff and his outlook on all things Latics. True it didn’t used to be like it is now but it’s still the only Wigan Athletic forum worth being on. If we do have pricks on here then they are certainly not isolated. Every one of us a some time will be a prick vatty me quite often I guess. This is a great forum because of you and super stu and mutty. And the more reasoned tilders, garswood and egg opposing the more radical views. Everybody is contributing in some way horc working his socks off with the gate predictions donny and his Victor Meldrew rants about pricing not to .mention Jayt and the admin lot. You don’t want to leave vat lad stay on here and let battle commence.A very good post sir!! From what I’m reading, nobody is over-reacting. But more simply, the OP by vat was simply focusing on our defending – which so far has been shocking. We have conceded a lot of soft goals so far & it was the same last season. It is not that any of defenders are any good. But NONE of them are leaders. I’ve said it before, but the last time I saw a goal scored like that was when my son played under 7’s football. In 41 years of watching professional football, I have never seen a goal like that EVER! I’m with vat on this one. No matter who is coming at you at speed or slow motion, a goalkeeper should be commanding his area & throwing himself onto that ball no matter who he knocks out the way. Have we still got a defensive coach? Because if we haven’t, we need to employ one. For the record vat, I am with you on this one. I haven’t seen a goal like their second since my son played under 7’s football. I agree with what you are saying. We dont have any leaders nor anyone who seems to want to fight. Jamie Jones is someone who commands his area. We are only 3 games in, but this does definitely need sorting NOW!! I’m sorry but I don’t agree. It was unfortunate that Williams got sent off but two yellow cards is two yellow cards and if the second is right in front of him, what can he do?
The ref could have given penalties at both ends and booked more players on both teams, Morsy escaped two very reckless challenges without a card. I didn’t think the ref favoured either team. Its a shame a very good competitive game was spoiled for us on 20 minutes, but that wasn’t the refs fault, Williams shouldn’t have reacted to get sent off. I agree with you.
Yes, he was a poor ref who lost control of the game. But you are right that I thought Morsy could easily have gone too.
The ref was bad for both teams tbh and you know things are bad when both sets of fans boo you.
My big concern is that we didn’t have possession, didn’t press, and were rather toothless.
The ref was poor, but that didn’t lose us the game.
We were equal for the first 20 minutes, then the sending off changed the game. Who knows, 11 vs 11 & we could have created possession, could have pressed & might not have been as toothless. When you’re down to 10 men, it’s so hard to play against 12. Best forgotten……in it up 2 red. Still in it till 2nd . Moore outstanding ,long time since I’ve seen us with a forward so committed, constantly made himself available just a pity no one there to pick up his flick ons and lay offs. He certainly bodes well for the future. Isn’t that Cooks 2nd yellow ?Do the suspension rules apply to managers as well should cook get 5 yellows? We were equal to Leeds IMO up until the sending off. Worst ref ever – enough said! 13,222
