Cant remember the last time we took a corner direct into the box, or since we last beat the first man on a corner…..
Am sure this all comes down to betting syndicates…
we must be using the same coaching video as when bullard took corners, either short and crap or barley reaching the 1st man…with the size of our lot you`d think some training ground movement would be used !!!!!!!!!!
Bury away, cant remember the year, lee ashcroft breaks into the area ends up avin hand bags with paddy kenny following a tangle, minutes later we get a corner, ashcroft takes a drink out of kennys water bottle and smiles to the lads behind the goal as he splits it back in, corner cleared,ball up the field, paddy kenny takes a drink out of the bottle, dirty get, he had no idea why we were laughing our tits off.

Anywhere in the north east for me, stopped in whitley bay last year after sunderland and did a newcastle stop over as well, were stopping in jesmond this saturday, small town like wigan ive heard,should be good.

Slate me if you want, but that was a very good performance yesterday, let down by Rodallega, Figueroa and massively by N’Zogbia and Kirkland for the second game in succession.What is really ironic, is these 3 outfield players are the ones that are ‘attracting the interest’ from the big clubs, yet they let us down in a big way yesterday.
N’Zogbia didn’t start playing until Chelsea were at 3-0, unprofessional or not interested?
Had these 4 played to their ability yesterday, we certainly have not come out 6-0 losers.
for the 1st 45 mins we played ok, the majority of the poor crowd stayed and clapped the team off at half time,the 2nd half was over before it began,2 long balls and a keeper who doesnt know if he should come or not led to 2 if not 3 further goals.
I dont know what the answer is, shall we throw rodders up front and play 4-4-2, would he be interested then? would it work?
N,zog needs sorting,if he doesnt want to be here get rid,same with Fig,disinterested players will bring the rest down.
Mr Martinez needs to concede to a defensive coach,build from the back,its as old as the hills.So we’ve had the useless Scotland, the annonymous Moreno, the disinterested Rodellega and now the over rated Boselli. The penny must be dropping. To play up front in Bob’s system is impossible.. None of the 4 lads are bad players. They are being asked to score goals and hold the ball up whilst the rest of the team tie themselves in knots passing it back and forth.Bob- if by some freakyou read this- abandon the system and give yourself a chance. 2 of your strikers up front and get the ball to them more quickly – why not knock a ball over the top every now and again. To continue as you are is suicide – and is driving me to drink !
spot on ,playing 1 up front is mad,it will not work for us,Boselli looks less than average,im sure he wasnt before he came,but all the talk about 1 man up front is useless if you cant defend,undone on saturday by 2 long balls from the back,and a keeper who doesnt know if hes coming or going.
We have to go to 4-4-2 and think about a long ball now and again,all this pocession sideways,backwards passing is useless if we get nothing out of it.Couldn’t agree more with Alex….calling the club a joke is ridiculous. Now the way Pompey have run their club is a joke, Hull giving an injury-prone Bullard £45K a week over 4 years is a joke, Everton losing a promising youngster because they didn’t put a contract offer in writing is a joke. Yes, not everything is perfect at Latics, far from it, but to label a small club like ours thats come through the divisions and is about to enter its 6th Premier League season, a joke smacks of another Wiganer looking for any excuse to winge and desert the club.As for Rodellega/Beattie, speculation….that said I wouldn’t spend Bolton’s money on Beattie never mind our club’s, absolute carthorse and seemingly a bit of a troublemaker at a club where things have gone really well over the last 3 seasons or so.

has to be Arry de zeuwe (sp) for me, a born leader we havent quite managed to get back, that 1st tackle in the 1st prem game v chelsea was just the start and example we needed from a captain.
…..just clearing out some cupboards upstairs and come across all the tickets for every game we played during our first season in the prem.
Got me wondering if anyone else managed to go to every game home, away league and cup during that historic season. If any of you did, have you kept all the tickets?
I know there wasn’t more than about 150 of us at Elland road for that midweek cup game so there can’t be that many of us.Was thinking of putting them in a big photo frame with a little detail underneath each one as to the result, scorers attendance etc.
Might be worth a few bob if I did, but its gerrin passed down when i’ve gone to to my eldest lad. Would love my great, great, great great grand kids to be the owners of something like that knowing that their great, great, great, great grandad was there when it all happened.I’ll have to go, I’m filling up Tommy!!.

blackpool looks a good team.good away daywith blackpool ground capcity will make latics crowds looked great. no longer smallest crowd in the premier league
maybe so but i can guess the lazy journo headlines,if they make it and i hope they do,great away days,they will obviously have 1st season syndrome and sell out the majority of home games,and like our 1st season will continue to take good away followings.
