Plus I am more than hoping to see a front three of Maloney Kone and Mcmanaman in the Championship next season who IMO would give us a real attacking edge over the majority of teams in that league.
You’re right but it would be nice to have some positive information in a period of uncertainty for the club…
Unless he has someone showing interest in Spain or elsewhere I personally think it would be a good move for him to sign a new contract and try and cement a starting place next year.
For us to benefit from the good work Martinez has done we need to keep hold of the likes of Golobart and Mcmanman etc.
Cuts in half of on my HTC HD 7 but if I flip it on its side it resizes perfectly for the screen.
Works perfect on the Nexus 7.
Simple question to you:
Do you believe everything you read in the Mirror?
No. But I believe everything I see in the mirror. Bob took us down and all that ‘he loves this club’ was and remains bollox. It was his job. He fooked us, now he has a better job. Fair play. That’s football. At least we won’t have to hear that post match drivel any more.
Martinez was quoted saying to Whelan , “I’ve took Wigan as far as I could” ,
wrong,
Div 1 & Div 2 would have been achievable with him in charge.
You have been quoted as saying to me ” My name is cup winners and my favourite past time is taking it up the bum hole “.
Let it be known as fact.
Others may take longer to be convinced of your conversion though :ohmy:He can always play them that podcast where he was licking Martinez’s bumhole.
That should do the trick.
Feel sorry for you LMB any fair point you have usually gets lost amist a sea of moaning and whinging.
But to be fair to Whelan and you I guess Whelan could argue that any failure to build the new training ground lays upon the fact Roberto failed to keep us up.
Personally I think Whelan should of coughed up but its very easy to verbally spend someone elses money.
It’s not just you, I bet all the new training facilities and academy would have been based on us being a Premier League club.
Of course they were, the Academy was being developed and build to Premier League specifications. Very few Championship clubs will have anything like that kind of standard of facility. Like it or not, when you get relegated something has to give and this is the obvious one, sadly.
It’s a real shame and I really thought that Whelan may have thrown his business plan out of the window a little and gone for it but it seems he has stuck to his guns. Maybe RM thought he was going to do it too.
This is my thoughts on the situation too.
Hopefully if we go back up at first time of asking any plans that may be put on hold can be put in place.
Someone like Rene Mulenstein (probably failed spelling) may be the man to make that happen.
Let it go my friend, let it go.
You change your Lightside/Darkside allegiance more than your football team!
How are you going to stoke arguments up next season when we are all getting along?
Maybe Fergie has changed his mind and fancies a crack at something a little more low key
Whether he is telling the truth or not, what Bickmon has said above is definitely true.
He got us in to this shitty mess so he should have had the bottle to try to get us out of it. Spineless git.
That said, we will have to move on, and hopefully we might see some attacking football next season instead of the boring backward and sideways mind numbingly dull dross we have seen for the majority of his tenure at Wigan Athletic. So he`s spineless because he`s left but you are glad he`s gone because he plays dross football.
So you wanted him to stay like he did when he turned Villa and Liverpool down and continue being fed what you considered dross football ?
What would you be sayin if he stayed ? The bloke can`t win with you
Contrary to popular belief he never got offered the job at Liverpool !
Probably not as I am led to believe he was very clear that he wanted full control over transfers at the club.
Does not mean he wasn’t first choice though ;)
Contrary to popular belief he was not first choice for the Liverpool job ! ;)
So speaking with the other candidates before your “first choice” who is then swiftly appointed is common practice in managerial selection?
Gerrard can squeal about it as much as he wants.
He was first choice.

Come on boys and girls Bobby did is best to pull a good team together under financial constraints that no other premier league team had. OK he got us relegated but leaves us with a legacy that includes;
1) We have won a major trophy.
2) We have shown on many occasions that we can beat all the top four teams.
3) The good people of Wigan will support their football team if they play the right way, even though they are in a relegation fight.
Thanks for the memories bobby, if you do go to Everton though I hope you get relegated! B)
if you look at it on the whole we won 38 Prem games out of a possible 152 matches. So in theory I’ve watched us not win for 3 seasons…
that make sense ??.
You do know which team you support, don’t you? It’s not Bayern Munich, we are expected to lose more than we win.
I support Bayern Munich ! ;)
Quite. You certainly don’t support Wigan Athletic.
Well Wigan are my English team and seeing as I buy a season ticket every season ( Last 10 years ) I think that entitles me to be considered a supporter ! It’s been a multi trophy season for me ! :P
What entitles you to be considered a supporter of Bayern then?
You are obviously too new to the forum to know the history re my German loyalties !
“Nothing at all” would have been sufficient ;)
Since when was I new to the forum?
I was lurking this forum while you were still wearing your Villa shirt :P
Apart from Golobart and Joel I think every other name I’ve listed is under contract.I have tweeted them both asking if they will be here next season….
Lets see if I get a response #cockneylaticexclusive?
Really? How much of an influence hs he really beenWhile I can only speculate it seems a bit of a coincidence Jones finished his career at Hamilton Academical around the time McCarthy and McCarthur would have been coming into the first team fold..
He quite possibly and probably is the reason we signed them both…
