I think you’d better stop now. You’re making me all nostalgic and emotional!

You are highlighting my point perfectly. That cringe-worthy “Little Wigan” shite is killing any originality which may want to rear its head. It’s systematic of the Soccer AM, happy-clappers brigade, who think football was invented in 1992.
I despise it with a passion and it should stop.

I’m a NIMBY so I’ve no objection to it at all because it’s never going happen anywhere near where I sit!

More of an issue with me is that “Little Wigan” racket played after we score. Corny and embarrassing, like we need reminding how to respond to a goal. Get rid of it and let’s celebrate properly!

I can’t see Whelan agreeing to a Saturday afternoon kick-off for the rugby and the BBC have it down as exactly as that.

He won’t take the risk of having to play on a dodgy pitch, especially if it’s been bucketing down, with Latics possibly having to win or draw that game to stay in the Prem.

He will. This is Whelan we are talking about here, £££££££ from the BBC. Don’t see the big deal myself. The rugby will play a day before. What difference does it make. You lot are that sad you are having a go at a cup draw in a different sport that makes no difference to your lives or the outcome of Wigan Athletic vs Wolves.

Really really need to get a life.
££££££ from the BBC for a rugby league game as opposed to the ££££££ from staying in the Premier League? Yes I’m sure Whelan is seriously considering that.

It’s been dire at times under Martinez but my gripe with the Darkside is that they have failed to see the bigger picture. Football is moving on from the “let’s lump it forward and play the percentages” style. It may have been some time coming and it may have come about by default perhaps but thankfully it does seem to have finally fallen into place. More importantly it seems the players also believe in how Martinez is trying to get them to play.

Of course the wheels could still come off this season and even if that should happen, and I’d be surprised and mightily disappointed if it did, I’ll still stand by what Martinez has set out to achieve at this club.

                Best result for us though.

I don’t have a problem with anyone who wishes to express a dislike of Martinez and his style of football. What I do find objectionable is the belligerent manner in which some of those have gone about expressing their views. A sort of arrogance which assumes an, I am right and you are stupid to assume otherwise, type attitude.

Those posters know who they are and right now are conspicuous by their absence

                    Eh?

Bolton lose to Spurs and we beat Blackburn, we’re more or less safe.

So no to your thought of it being a good thing.

How do you know this or is it pure speculation on your part? Perhaps you read about it on some dodgy website? Or is it just another one of your pompous outburst!

I never thought we would get anything at Fulham, not even a draw. They are one of the form teams at the moment and their tight pitch doesn’t suit our style of play. Forget it and move on to the next game which will also be tough.

I thought Chelsea we very lucky to win that game. Barcelona hit the bar and a post and Fabregas missed two sitters.

Interesting that many of the comments after the article say much the same thing – that Chelsea were lucky while we were just good :P
