Robert’s broken leg against Reading. I’d forgotten about that. What a star that man was/is.
I watched the game against City in a pub where they showed both us and the Cardiff v Ipswich game.
With Bullard bagging a couple for Ipswich and Paul Jewell looking fat but happy on the touchline, I kept getting drawn to the other game. It felt like I’d gone back to happier times.
Yes.
If we don’t, I’ll be delighted but dreading the thought of going through this all again next season.
Couple (or 3) points from yesterdayWhere was the old silver fox – missing in action yet again – has he given up
Thought we played well for the first 20 mins – then seemed to loose heart – no motivation seem to be coming from brown shoes
Why are our fitness levels so poor – we faded badly again and that after a 10 day break – Utd on the other hand looked very strong and that despite having an away Champ League game on Wed
20 minutes? I thought we played well for about an hour, then fell apart at the end. I have to say Man U weren’t particularly impressive, other than Nani and Vidic.
Reminds me of many of Bullard’s attempts: although I’m sure at least some of them were successful.Either way I’m sick of spouting the phrase: “BEAT THE FIRST MAN!”
‘Beating the first man’ finally sunk in during the second half. Shame he just blasted it out for a throw in though.
I don’t have the stats on abandoned games, but I can remember Watford a couple of years back.Paul Jewell ran over to us in the away end and asked if it should carry on…… and it didn’t. we were drawing I think and we drew the rematch.
I remember the 3 or 4 blokes they sent out at half-time to get rid of the lake the size of Windemere that had formed armed only with a pitch-fork each.
Yes, it was 1-1 at the time; Heskey scoring for us.West Brom :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy:I think, innit?
Yeah, West Brom. Apparently if you head off in an Easterly direction from the Hawthorns, the next place at the same height above sea level is in the Ukraine.
I think I need to get out more.
Lets hope not!
Though he did it with fulham and they were in a worse position than west brom are nowDidn’t he only keep Fulham up because Liverpool put out a team of z-list players against them though?
Get on him to score on his West Brom debut on Tuesday night! ;)I thought he was about as good as Nathan Ellington on his West Brom debut against us.
Anyone who went last night, did you see his celebration after Watson’s goal was brilliant, ran over to all our fans and slid on his knees. Ali Habsi is a BLUE!Just made a virtually identical post myself Tini. What a star the man is.
bob said,he’s happy if we finsh the transfer window stronger than we were when it opened.we hav’nt signed anyone and he thinks were stronger now.well done bob with that one  .. :crazy:Doesn’t get rid of de Ridder imply we have a stronger squad??
Well I’m bringing 6. Should be enough to get a Mexican wave going.
Well said that mon.
I’m joining the list of people saying this is an excellent post.
What we’ve achieved is the envy of many clubs; a great deal of them with a far better history than ours.
We generally played well last night, and the commitment was there from the players. We need more of the same from the fans.
Madrid? Dump of a town.
No history, no class, no style. Same for its football team.
