no mention of what he died of, sounds suspicious to me
He had that accident many years back when he was riding a quad bike and hit a tree. He was in a coma for a while after. I suspect his health overall suffered.
My son went to Wigan Juniors at Robin Park in the 80s, and what a magnificent organisation that was. Every kid played, and in a team shirt, and the basic skills were learned, all for a very small fee.
All run with volunteers (I used to referee Under 8 games lol), and all were treated with respect.
Nowadays there’d have to be so much insurance, CRB checking, health & safety provision that it couldn’t be done.
Apparently there was a poll once as to which was the number 2 city in England.
The people of Manchester thought that Manchester was number 2 city.
The people of Birmingham thought that Birmingham was the number 2 city.
The people of Liverpool thought that London was.
The first World Cup I remember was 1962 :(
reading those comments
im hoping its just sour grapes but not holding my breath :woohoo:Basically you can read what you like (I don’t mean you personally, Bicky, I mean “one can read…”) into those sort of comments.
There will always be those who say “worst player ever”, and there will be those who say “good player – we’ll miss him”. Not just sour grapes either – people will have those widely differing views.
Imagine anyone coming on here trying to find out if Gomez is a good buy for Sunderland.
Besides which players are judged by the role they are asked to play – look at Gomez under Coyle and Rosler. A very different player. I’m happy we’re bringing new blood in – let’s wait and see how he performs.
He is. Normally.
But on this occasion he was totally right though.
Scotland play Nigeria tomorrow – at Craven Cottage. Their form has improved under Gordon Strachan. It looks an attractive fixture.Attractive fixture? ;)
Agree. Can’t remember one thing he did that made me think we should keep him.
The Accies have done it!
Hibs started their miserable season with a 9-0 defeat in Europe, and now join Hearts and Rangers in the Scottish Championship – and only one team can come up next season.Queen of the South for me :)
I hope Derby beat um,however, QPR are one of those teams that don’t play well but manage to scrape a 1-0 win. :woohoo:What’s tonight’s lottery numbers, John?
Gutted for Derby.
Ar ey lah!
I hope QPR win.
I hate them, you see.
And so I’d rather we played Derby next season, and let QPR flounder in the Premier League, waste money, suffer embarrassing defeats, and sack the buffoon before Christmas.
Sorted
I think the Chocolate Boxes were always the home end. The away end was tiny, crammed in by a road behind.
I think they may have extended slightly as this picture seems to show it a bit bigger than I remember – but then again I may be mistaken. Whatever, it was quite small.

Why is his strap line offensive?
And, unlike the RL board, we have this non-football part of the board. That’s their choice – this is ours.
If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Stick to the Football Forum. I, and the other moderators, will move anything non-football off the football board when we see them.
I personally am no fan fan of rugby (mainly because I find it boring rather than anything deeper), but have no problem with others being supporters of both.
