I agree Hughes is a great find but I’m not giving Toure any credit for it. It was injuries to Kerr, Whatmough and Edmonds Green that forced his hand to play him. He hadn’t even made the bench in Kolo’s first 2 games.

I do however agree that we are way too reluctant to give some of our kids a chance. Smith, Adeeko and Sze have all shown enough in Pizza Cup games to warrant some inclusion

I thought Keane was very good last night, pressed their back line really well along with Lang and Sinani. They made it very difficult for Blackburn to play through us. No coincidence when he went off then they were able to attack us more freely and the last 20 mins was probably their best period of the game. Unfortunately though because of the injuries he had to make the change when he did otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to give Wyke a run out as that was our final sub opportunity.

The major disappointment for me was we failed to test their keeper who was the same lad who had a shocker against us in the FA Cup last season. Our quality from out wide has got to improve because we did really well to create chances to cross but our crossing was dreadful.

Thought Power moved the ball a lot quicker and better, helped by the fact that Christ is actually able to protect the ball andto carry it forward.

All in all a little bit of hope has returned after last night……but then again Kolo’s first game at Millwall wasn’t a disaster. Let’s see what Saturday brings

Did anyone see the clip of our pre match warm up against Luton? Players just left to their own devices, not a coach in sight. Reminded me of Steppes FC back in the day in the South Lancs Sunday League. Proper amateurish. Maybe one of the final nails in the coffin

Another big if where is graham jones these days would he be maloneys number two
That would be interesting if it did happen

Jones is doing rather well at Newcastle so don’t see him as an option.

I’d go cap in hand back to Richardson as I suspect he’s the only one who can get anything out of this lot of players. If I was him though I’d be responding with the middle finger.

My money is on Rob Kelly till the end of the season. Cheapest option since there can’t be any money left in the manager budget.

              What is all this about?

I’ve just read Paul’s tweets, and he was the one saying the rumour was way off the mark.
He certainly didn’t start the rumour either.
              Calm down guys…

              Yup I already said that

Will have to look elsewhere for a left back……Luke Robinson hasn’t played for months at Tranmere. I’m sure I read a while back that he was injured.

Not really fair when Leam said after the Norwich game we needed a squad overhaul but wasn’t allowed to.

                        Convenient how you only mention
our “piss poor fans” turning on Kolo. What about the “piss poor fans” who turned on Richardson after one poor run following 2 years of miracles. You are so blinkered jrfatfan

I keep reading comments that this squad isn’t good enough for the championship. If we are being honest, I reckon every one of us thought the following would hold their own or even excel:

                          Whatmough
                          Kerr
Shinnie (not you CW I know)
                          Thelo
                          Lang
                          Wyke

That’s not a bad start to build around and use the rest as bench players.

Nyambe was brought in and every one thought he was a good swap for Darikwa

Naylor has actually probably been the best of the lot lately and at least is still busting a gut

If Leam had been allowed to strengthen GK, LB, CM and use the likes of Power and McClean as squad players then I have no doubt he would have gotten the points for us to finish 21st. Finish 21st and then a lot of the contracts end and we could strengthen further.

                            “We fell over the line”

We topped the league with 92 points!!!! The season is a marathon and it doesn’t matter when you get the points as long as you get them. The players were dead on their feet the last few months due to the fixture congestion.

My only “criticism” would agree with you in that he underplayed Shinnie when he could of rotated Power and Naylor more

It was shocking Leyland. So defensive, so disjointed. There is no urgency or any kind of plan whatsoever.

Kolo says it could have gone either way. No Kolo it couldn’t…you have to attack for it to go our way!!
