I really don’t like the way Whatmough has gone about this in waiting till the last minute to terminate his contract. If he’d done it straight after the final game of the season (which he played in btw) then I think there’d be a bit more sympathy.
But let’s not kid ourselves that the rest of the players are staying because of loyalty.
Whatmough will likely match or improve his weekly wage when he moves on. The reality is that the only other 2 players who could do that are Thelo and Hughes and because of this we have given them improved contracts. None of the other players are going to improve on the ridiculous contracts they already have so obviously they aren’t going to rip them up.
Can truly hold us head up high for the way he has handled himself throughout all the shit.

Meltdown ? Wtf do you mean ?, If you think he bought us to get the ground for the rugby your mad. He could have simply hung on and paid peanuts in administration then Wigan athletic would have gone and any new club would have no rights to play at the stadium.

Me and my boys have renewed ours already and will always back the club through through thick and thin.
Not renewing doesn’t hurt the owners, it hurts the club
The silence from the owners and directors is scary.
I can’t see the EFL continuing to deduct points because it affects the integrity of the league.
My prediction is Hartlepool will get a reprieve from relegation to non league.

We have 10 pros still signed to the club till at least 2024 and a few longer. To build a side around them with youth and new signings is going to be a monumental task and we need to get 100% behind Maloney.
I personally think it will take a minimum of 2 seasons to get a side together to push for promotion that’s how crap were in.
It’s a lot more than 10 still here next season. Maloney said in interview there are 18 still contracted next season.
