So this manager of ours who hasn’t got a clue about managing and is only fit for being a coach has gone and won Manager of the Year

So this manager of ours who hasn’t got a clue is about to confirm promotion and win the league (hopefully)

How has this happened when CW, who is the voice of all reason and who’s opinion is the only opinion that counts because everyone else “can’t see the woods for the trees”, says he’s not a manager 🤷‍♂️

Congratulations Leam, you’ll do for me and a few thousand others I suspect

Haha you really are deluded cup winners.

I will repeat again that our “non wanting” manager deserved manager of the year for keeping us up last season and currently has it in our own hands to be League One champions this season.

Granted at the start of his reign he was reluctant to take on the roll and had Cooky gotten a job immediately I’m sure he would have moved on. But when Cook got the Ipswich job he declined to move on. That doesn’t seem like the actions of a manager who wants to be an assistant or a coach

We have a manager who kept us up last season against all the odds.

We have a manager who if the season ended right now on points per game would be League One champions.

Yet we still have clowns who doubt and question and moan about every decision he makes. They expect every signing to be like Messi. They expect every performance to be 4-0 or it’s just not good enough.

I was as frustrated as anyone on Tuesday and I also don’t think Magennis has offered us anything….yet.

We have won 5 and drawn 1 (away at Rotherham) of our last 7 league gamesso our own form isn’t too shabby itself as we take on MK.

Leam is a legend of this club already and I suspect there is more to come yet.

I went to both days of the 1988 Centenary Tournament. Was sat next to Alan Johnson’s mum!

I know, but we’ve sacked off many of those bottlers to you!

When do you reckon £10K a week Wyke will break his duck? And more importantly, will he score more than Ross Stewart this season?

                  Probably not……….but Callum Lang might

Still a Wigan player. Read last week that he was stepping up his training programme

I can still remember that 86/87 run like it was yesterday. We got Darlington away in the 2nd round who had just beaten us 1-0 in the league a week or two earlier. We smashed them 5-0. Gillingham at home in round 3 which was postponed a number of times due to snow. Norwich next who were a top side in Div 1. I’m sure Steve Bruce played that day. Div 2 Hull were thrashed 3-0 in Round 5 before that Leeds game in the last 8. Was a horrible windy Sunday were Tunksy was beaten twice from long range. Great days

“A lot of fans were asking for a new manager”? Where have you heard or read this? 🤷‍♂️ I haven’t heard that in any of the circles I mix in.

These players weren’t wanted by other clubs because they couldn’t get a tune out of them. Richardson has them giving their all for a club in dire circumstances even though they are unlikely to be here next season. I think that in itself speaks volumes

Seems like he’s got the job based on the last four games and sticking with us, no room for sentiment in this game, if these new owners are serious and want us back in the Championship inside 2 years, is Richardson the man to deliver?

If we hadn’t at least offered the job to Richardson then our owners would be no better than the owners of the “big 6”. Why shouldn’t sentiment and recent performances count for something. The guy (along with Rioch) has been nothing short of exceptional.

It may work….it may not work, but the guy has more than earned the opportunity to have a crack at it. If he can unearth any more Johnston’s, Keane’s or Viv’s then we won’t do too badly

Ash has just had a little lad. He decided that he wanted to be at home more and Media manager at a football club doesn’t allow for that.
We wish him well as he starts a new part of his career at his next job. He has been part of the furniture at Latics for near on a decade and will be missed.

Pleased that he’s making the move on his own accord. Good luck to the fella

I don’t believe there has ever been an issue with commitment. Ability, skill levels and performance on occasions yes, but never have I felt they haven’t tried.

Stressful….but stunning. Love the reaction of the whole squad at the end. Kyle Joseph hugging everyone
