With Callum Lang just popping in winner at Premier league Fulham the mind boggles.

Not good enough for Latics though….

Not only us. I think you’ll find plenty clubs have sent players out on loan who have then gone on to score for their temporary club.
I think it’s spot-on what we’ve done with Lang.

If he came to us for the season he’s be on the bench at best.

With Oldham he’s getting first team experience and will become a better player because of it.

As of yesterday it was 75 off, fatal; not to mention the number of “non fatal”. How does Sadiq explain this ? Who are responsible for this ? What is the solution ?

I put the blame on the US-inspired gang culture, and a lack of police.

Like Egg said, much less than shootings in the US, so be grateful for our gun laws.

I’ve a feeling Walkers recall may be something to do with the rumoured transfer to Rangers.
McManaman would surely be the ideal replacement for the injured Massey.. and to be honest he should have been playing there all season anyway.

Walker can’t sign for another club until next season due to FIFA regulations.

I hope its just a rumour but very disturbing news if it is regarding Cook and playing certain players and receiving a fee for playing them I just can’t see it.

I find it hard to believe that a grown man can even consider that there’s anything in it apart from being the rinvention of a pre-pubescent twitter poster with too much time on their hands.
Aside from it being illegal, if Cook was doing it I’m sure he’d be only to eager to tell people about it so it could surface on Twitter and forums like this.

Watching Sheffield play today gives us an idea where we need to be.
I don’t think they were at their best but they were a million miles ahead of us and our bumbled efforts.
Still sideways and backwards passing and hoofing up to our pint sized striker. Devoid of any thought and creative play.
A truly Joyce like performance. Sorry that was worse than any manager as churned up for years. Utter shite.

They are also a few million quid ahead of us.

In short, the squad simply isn’t good enough in depth. So with both Powell, Jacobs and now Massey out again, we’re devoid of flair.

Everyone keeps going on about McManaman starting, but he really is the Emperor’s New Clothes. Our latest Roger Espinoza – who gets better with each game he doesn’t play.

He had nearly a full half yesterday and did very little other than get booked for diving.

When we have our full team fit, we are decent side. But take three or four out – like we have at the moment, and we’re lacking.

Hopefully we can add a couple over the net few weeks, but strap in, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

How anyone could think our forward line was adequate prior to the season is beyond me. Grigg may have been worth a shot but Vaughan who had guided Sunderland to relegation was always likely to be out of his depth. We don’t score away from home much and now this has spread to our home form.

6 points away from bottom 3 at the half way mark is fine by me given the investment Cook has had at his disposal and it remains to be seen if our new benefactors will invest in the squad. Powell will almost certainly be on his way in January and we will need reinforcements for sure. Cooks constant stubbornness in not playing Callum is absolutely baffling and I cannot for the life of me see why he was signed.

However, to compare him to Joyce and Mcckay is ignorance and he deserves better given results since he took over. We have probably spent one of the least in the division, have amongst the smallest crowds and anywhere near mid table should be considered a massive success given recent form when we have been promoted.

A few things to pick out on this one:

Vaughan didn’t exactly lead Sunderland to relegation. He was only with them for half a season, and to be fair, the general malaise had already set in so as bad as he was for them, I think Messi would have struggled with form there.

But also, Vaughan has scored goals in the Premier League and Championship in the past and other than at Sunderland, is rated a decent striker to have in your squad by fans at all he other clubs he’s played for.

Joe Garner is another player who has scored goals in the Championship – mainly for Preston and Ipswich. He’s not impressed me, but he’s another player fans of previous clubs he’s played for rate.

In fact, the only player you have picked out as probably being good enough for the Championship is Grigg – who has struggled in this league before.

No idea why McManaman isn’t being picked – but Cook sees him on a daily basis at training, and clearly there’s something he doesn’t like.

And like Vaughan, he was with Sunderland when they were relegated, and like Vaughan he’s also not rated by the Sunderland fans.

But according to some of our fans, Cook is wrong in playing one of these players, and wrong by not playing one of them.

That’s Wiganers for you.

When we have a full squad again, I think Naismith will be decent on the left in a more advanced position.

He’s woeful at defending, but he can beat a man and put a cross in – which is something few of our wide players can do.
