No offence mate, as you didn’t pen anything on that link, but it really is pish poor.
It is just me, or is that not funny, or, am I turning into the Two Ronnies fan that my dad was?
But he does have a valid point to be fair.
Eye up, its the return of another peanut clodder to the board.
Where have you been Danny?
Probably been banned for steroid use.Just had a second source confirm that the rumour is ill-informed drivel.
You really needed a second source to confirm that?
To be honest, no. Just thought I’d poo-poo it for a second time.Just had a second source confirm that the rumour is ill-informed drivel.
I’ve asked an acquaintance who would know for certain if this was true, and he was as surprised as I was.
Maybe he has been left out of the loop, but personally I will take that reaction as confirmation that this rumour is indeed twaddle, started by six fingered humanoids whose most valuable contributions to the world have been Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and tea cups.
And it was always going to get messy after they blew the whistle.
Stop moaning, tha’d a bin alreet in trenches wi me, in ’17.
Been round the stadium tonight; perfectly passable. Not a patch on the Boxing Day ice.
Not nearly as bad as Christmas Day 1915. Can’t believe that match went ahead.
Halftime entertainment was poor as well. Paul McCartney singing ‘Pipes Of Peace’.
This thread’s gone too high-brow. I’m out.
Fair enough.
Something he said the other day, and the fact he’s from Leyland made me think he was someone a couple of row up from where I sit.
‘Respek’ to the East Standers though.
Anyone else got memories of Goole? My first ever game was Latics v Goole in 1971.
My first ever away game was Goole v Latics in 1976….0-2 couple from Johnny Rogers if memory serves me reet.
Apparently Goole Town went t1ts-up and reformed as Goole AFC.
I don’t remember either, because I was one, and six years old respectively. Maybe I am a JCL.

Do you sit in the West Stand?
This doesn’t make sense – having just made two major sales and balanced the books, we should be in a decent financial position. So, how is it that we can no longer afford more than £4m for a player…yet when we were in a worse financial position pre Bob we spent £6m on Nzog, £5.5 on Koumas and Heskey, and offered £7m and £10m for Johnson and Owen?GalacTIC, what major sales are your referring to? Do you mean Palacios and Valencia?
If so, that money has gone (N’Zogbia was bought with some of the Palacios money). Our wage bill is higher than ever, as we have a lot of well paid dead wood on the books. We have debts to clear and a club to run on no other viable income other than TV money and player sales. I’ll not go into details of a potential balance sheet again, because it’s now beyond boring, and it’s still regarded by many as a creature only found in fairytales, like a dragon or griffin. (Griffins couldn’t possibly exist in the real world. On an internet forum, possibly.)
I’m sure we can afford £4m as a one off for a player, however, who knows what has already been earmarked for other players this month? Why blow a substantial chunk of your transfer budget on one player when you’re trying to build a team?

17 was a cake-walk Griff. The Somme in 16 was was the real deal. Lost my best bat-man that year.
Wonder how many of the regular posters were there at the time, there, and Canvey Island.
If I’m being honest, cbeebies.co.uk and tesco.com are the most visited in our house. Wish it was something more exciting, but alas.
We will only stay where we are if we send Martinez the way we sent Hutchings. Hutchings was sacked for less.
Sorry bobhead – time to go.
Err, wasn’t Hutchings was sacked for a run of 6 straight defeats? Have we lost 7 on the trot?
Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story eh?
