If thats the case, He wants remember where his bread is butterd. ;)

I don’t think you could have made that sentence sound more Wigan even if you’d tried.

Another edit by you sunbeam, calm down a bit you must be all a dither, your sausage like fingers cant keep up with your thick noggin.
Couldn’t resist with the name calling once again, could you? “Saddos” it is now, Saddos FFS grow up!, that was the type of thing the girls used to say in the school playground back in the 70’s.

What you mean is, you and your little clan of buddies are laughing, the majority on here know you as the biggest vvanker to have ever posted on the CL forum.
I’ve lost count of the number of posters I know who have said your are the main reason they have abandoned this forum. That’s a realm shame, cos I know you are just on the wind up, but you just don’t know when to stop.
You amuse yourself and a few boozing buddies, with the quirky put downs, but if someone disagrees with you, out comes this vindictive, aggressive, name calling tosspot.

if you are going to respond, I suggest you type your response on a word document, get your three buddies to proof read it, then copy and paste it to your post field. Doing it that way, you may avoid the need for another edit.
Just take a deep breath, think about it, take your time and I’m sure you’ll get it right first time. Even if you make a mistake, perhaps you should seriously think of letting it go as it is, nobody gives a flying fek anyway, oh sorry, apart from your 3 buddies.

PS For Egg and the others, bragging rights mean that those who said Martinez would have Everton in the Bottom half of the prem are currently correct. It’s just a figure of speech guys, nothing to put into capitals or get worked up about.

“Champions League”

Nobody has ever posted on this thread that they expect Martinez WILL finish in the top half, let along achieve a Champions League place.

I think you’re having internal arguments with yourself on that wee man.

in reply to: How Long Before “Bottom Four Bob” #137403

Pretty sad.

More posts about Everton’s mediocre performances than about our team winning.

And once again you have contributed to this thread, cant keep yer nose out.

Perhaps its because Wigan have not played today and Everton have. That’s surely simple enough for you to understand.

PS. Just listening to Graham Souness and Gary Neville talking about Everton and they are bang on with their summing up.

“Trying to play from the back when they haven’t got the quality of players to do it”.

“Passing the ball around in the wrong areas of the field”.

“Conceding goals when all it needed to avoid it was a hoof up the field”.

Souness even said that Martinez would be alright playing those tactics if he was managing the likes of Barcelona, but not Everton and as we already know not Wigan.

16 points less than they had at this stage last season, perhaps BK will buy him a new iPad and give him another 3 years on his contract.

My money is on him to get tick tacked before the end of January.
Nope. All the posts I was talking were from yesterday and the day before.

I would suggest that we now need to win games and we don’t do that playing with McClean up top on his own and then resorting to 2 lads up there for the last 10 when we’re losing.

I have been advocating Riera and Delort but I doubt he’ll go with that. He may go Fortune on his own against Leeds, I’d prefer Riera with him up top at the very least, someone has to be on who can score.
You don’t get out of this with that luxury midfield so that needs breaking up. Part of me wants to pot Callum to the bench but there’s always that chance he can create something.
I think Kvist could be someone to get back in, just so the likes of McCann get forward.
I’m even considering Captain Calamity could be the answer at the back for some much needed experience of a dogfight. New lows reached.

Are Waghorn and Ramis ever coming back? They could be what keeps us up or takes us down imo.

I still don’t think playing two up front is the answer – and certainly not if we’re playing four in midfield.

I can understand (in theory) why McClean is being started up front – because he will chase defenders down and pressurise them into mistakes or win the ball from them, and with his pace, if the ball is played through gaps in the middle or to his feet in space, he’ll out-sprint most defenders.

The problem on Saturday was, the midfield didn’t have enough of a grip on the game to create those chances, and half the balls played forwards were at McClean’s head.

Saying that though, I thought Fortune played well when he came on, and there was a marked improvement in the team.
Fortune put the ball over the bar right in front of me from 8 yards after a superb lay off from Riera. It was however an improvement in that there were 2 players in the box.
I actually though Watson was our best player on Saturday even before he scored, always on the ball, absolutely nothing in front of him.
Personally I thought McCann was by far our best player.

Have the West Stand have been saying it since the start of the season. I don’t think he’s fit though.

So according to most we had the best squad in the division. Who are you going to bring in, who are you going to clear out?

Start with the manager and put Barry Chuckle in instead and we wouldn’t see a dafter set up than yesterday. All this player business doesn’t matter a jot if he plays a team like he did yesterday.

Show me a player who doesn’t need confidence and right mind set to play a game of football, this fella doesn’t instil it with that shambles of a set up.

Leeds should be there for the taking if he gets it right but can’t see him changing his way to be honest, good time for a boycott.

What would your set up be? Just interested to know.

As for bringing players in during the January window, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Who, of decent quality, will want to join a team who are second bottom, have a (according to the press) racist chairman, a racist sexist manager, low crowds, and a thrifty wage structure?

in reply to: Formation…. #136918

Blackpool have started to get points thats what.

We played 442 at home the other week, drew 0-0, didn’t have a shot on target.

I can make ridculous generalisations like you all day, if you want?
At least we didn’t get beat! :)
And it was that exta striker that made all the different in defense!
All good teams defend from the front!!
The flaw in your theory is your use of the word ‘good’!

If he jumps now will he be as bad as martinez for jumping ship

No he’s not.

He’ll never build his reputation back up again and his leaving will distance him from the club.

It’s the right thing to do.

Personally with Latics current squad, I’d go with 3 centre halves (Boyce, Ramis & Figueroa), 2 wing backs (Perch/Tavernier & Taylor), 3 central midfielders (Kvist, McCann & Mloney) & 2 up top (McManaman being one of them Riera/Delort/Holt being the other)

Pretty much the exact team I’d choose – apart from I’d still opt for Fortune to partner McManaman.

in reply to: Delort #136823

I agree with both of those posts.

I’m not dead-against 4-4-2. What I am against is those who think that if you’re not scoring goals, it’s as simple as putting another striker up there and that’s the problem solved.

And I’m against those who think playing with one up front is some fancy-Dan way of playing invented by Martinez.

4-2-3-1 (or 4-5-1) does work, as it works for lots of other teams. I also think in Perch we have at least one player who has the pace and fitness to play the role of wing-back to enable a 3-5-2, although saying that, I’m not as convinced about anyone on the left.

And, there’s a time and a place for playing 4-4-2 which I’m pretty damn sure it’s not every week.

in reply to: Malky’s answers #136814
Formations are a load of bollocks most of the time as players get dragged out of position too easily! They may start in a certain formation but invariably it ends up being something completely different! Strikers these days are not necessarily the penalty area predators of old and so playing 2 strikers doesn’t have to mean 2 players right upfront! What I am trying to say is that it would be good to see 2 strikers starting but in a different set up, I feel there would be more options and contingencies with 2 forwards on the field as opposed to making substitutions! Anything has to be better than the lone wolf striker formation that we seem to have adopted with no fruition on the horizon as of yet!

So, maybe one target man, and one playing off him, a bit deeper? You could then have two wide men in an a more advanced position as support so you get an….err…..4-2-3-1 :P

in reply to: Delort #136773
I’m intrigued to know how you know he won’t, when it hasn’t been tried? Typical Latics folk writing players off before they’ve had a chance. Lets stick with Fortune then cos that’s working int it?

Keep your hair on.

My comment is aimed at Egg’s ‘Stick someone alongside him in a 4-4-2 formation though and the lad will get a pon full’.

It’s the belief from some of our fans that 4-4-2 is the golden key that will unlock our season.

He might do well. I hope he does. But taking a player away from our already struggling midfield and replacing him with one of our other struggling strikers does not mean success is guaranteed.

That’s the joke.
