We would all love to stop a losing run with a win, but life isnt that simple. The important thing is we stopped the losing run and kept a clean sheet which considering the piss poor goals we have been conceding is another bonus.
As GL said, if we had conceded late on then this board would have been full of posts claiming we should have played for the draw.
Jesus, your one positive fooker, don’t try to score we might lose ?? Wtf kinda statement is that ?.
Reading were poor, we were on top then we suddenly start slowing it down in the hope we get a point ? That’s exactly how teams go down trying to defend draws.Did you not stop to think that Reading were dropping in looking for a point ?.
This is why if the very strong rumours0 that are flying around are true Cook’s successor is been lined up to takeover
And I could say that you’re one negative fooker but anyone who reads your posts can see that.
We have lost the last 4 before yesterday, created very little and given away soft goals. Yesterday we drew the game, created plenty and kept a clean sheet. Surely that must be a positive?
Losing matches gets you relegated and until yesterday that is exactly what we have been doing. Had you offered me 0-0 at kick off I’d have taken it. Losing run ended, bit of confidence at the back. Jobs a gooden.
We have lost against some very good sides. Reading were not a good side yet we did the Yootha thing and played for a point. Terrible performance all day long from Cooky I’m afraid.
Well they took more points from the last 4 than we did
Did anyone else notice our players time wasting and running the clock down in injury time? What the fuck is all that about?
It’s about ensuring we didn’t risk another loss.
We have had a run of 4 defeats – that needed to stop.
We all of course would have loved Will to tuck away a 94th minute winner; but there was a risk of them nicking one.
So we have got the proverbial monkey off our backs now for Wednesday night. If we had gone into that with 5 losses then there would be all sorts of problems. At very best we would have shut up shop for the whole 90 minutes.
As it is we’ve broken that spell, and can now press on.
Stop talking sense garswood, it doesnt work on here. Just boo everyone, call for cooks head and say were shit. People are wanting to sell our best player ffs

Seeing as everyone on here claims to have watched football since the non league days, most of you haven’t a clue about anything to do with the game.
If a team has three or more England internationals picked for a game, then okay, that club should be able to postpone a game.
Postponing games because foreign nationals are picked for their country should not be permitted. Squads are big enough these days, and if it had an impact on teams being below par, it might just make them put more effort into producing English players instead of buying all all the foreign players.I seem to recall Latics calling a game off last season after their 3rd choice goalkeeper had been picked for Wales U21s.
I know and totally wrong. Not sure but that may have been the one to give the squad a break where some players had an early season holiday.
Aye. And a lot of good that did us
Its kind of the exact same situation though isnt it. You want rid of foreign players when most of our success has come with foreign players in the side. Im sure you still wish we were non league at times.
And what exactly about the england squad are we improving? The 17s 19s and 21s have all recently won the euros or world championships and the senior team have reached the last 4 in the world cup and the last 4 in the nations league which puts them in a strong position for the euros in 2020 with an average age in the team of 23.
You do know that none of those players played for us then and Grigg would be as useful to the England side as Kone would.
Take away the likes of Aguero, Silva, De Bryune, Hazard, De Gea, Pogba, Salah, Mane, Firminio, Eriksen, Van Dijk.
No one wants to take away the above players, just limit the amount that clubs are allowed to play in a match.
And you think all those players would hang around to sit on the bench?
Robles
Boyce
Scharner
Alcaraz
Espinoza
Kone
GomezWho do you drop from that? And that isn’t including McArthur, McCarthy or Maloney.
And how long do we last in the prem possibly without:
De Zeeuw
Boyce
Al Habsi
Palacios
Valencia
Zaki
N’Zogbia
Figueroa
Melchiot
Rodallega
GomezAnd you’ll be the first to moan when we lose a game because we’re missing 2 or 3 players or when we get relegated because we are getting stuffed every week as we can only play English lads.
There is no reason why homegrown players can’t be as good if they get the chance and if the coaching etc is good enough.
They haven’t been for the past 50 years.

Big game for England today, chance to qualify for the euros a year early and Southgate hasn’t even got McManaman on the bench and is playing 433 instead of 442. WTF??!!
Love a good soundbite you lads.
Maybe they want to get settled in the role first, see whats what and will be discussing things with the actual people who matter like the staff, players, Johnathan Jackson and Paul Cook?
I expect they will be presented to the crowd on Saturday.
The game has moved on Donny, some things good some things bad.
The team need and deserve ouŕ support at Bolton its an important game we need to win so support the team, make some noise and moan and gloat after because were not gonna change anything.
If you support Wigan Athletic, you don’t give those bstds £35 a ticket. That simple.
Crowds don’t give you results, as we always tell everyone and as we’ve proved before with a full end at Bolton. Fck em.
Utter tripe. “If you support Wigan Athletic you only watch them when the price suits”
