scruffy southerner’s. Need get a life and stop sponging every penny they can
Actually they are from Middlesboro’.
I’m in and this Google Chrome is well fast !! :)
Not in the same league as Opera man. I’ve moved from IE to FF to GC and now on Opera.
It’s a bit like buying your first car, a mini, then finishing up with a top of the range merc. :snooty:The websites are on screen before you’ve had time to type in the link.
Opera is blisteringly fast. :angry-extinguishflame:
Much more stable than GC to.Or maybe it is something to do with the large TV screen in that corner of the ground.Seems like the rest of the ground is pretty much full though, unlike yesterday’s disappointing turnout.
The above post was posted at 09:20PM on Sunday Feb 27th. So HOW am i 28hrs late with my comment about YOU doing the Wiggin Walk :teasing-knob:

That’s to stop them fighting :angry-argument:
Changing the topic slightly.
How or who puts the flags across the top of the stadium for Rugby games? Just noticed the top of the stand is covered in ’em. :techie-hourglass:
All good suggestions but what about the following:
Bod
W.D.Y. (Why Dont you)
Camberwick Green
Fingermouse
Number 73
Saturday Swapshop
Chorlton & the Wheelies:banana-skier: :character-beavisbutthead: :happy-jumpeveryone:
Its not a result to get too upset over as its clear that Bobby wasn’t especially bothered with the FA Cup & I guess for our reserves to hold a mainly first team Bolton to a 1-0 defeat over 180 minutes of football is not bad
BUT just going off the players who played last night & there performances I came away thinking the following:
Pollit – still geet n’it
Stam – i thought he started the game very well but dropped an absolute clanger that led to their goal. but I can see somet in him
Lopez – not a left back but defended okay although he offered nowt going forward
G Caldwell – a liability waiting to happen
S Caldwell – slow but steady. didn’t make the cock ups his brother did
McManaman – looks like a player with plenty of promise. Was our most threatening player whilst on the pitch & I’d like to see him get more opportunities in the league
Thomas – It was some point in the 2nd half before I even realised that he was playing. The word anonymous could have been invented for this fella
Diame – You can see he’s got some decent tricks in his locker but I haven’t seen a lazier midfielder in my time of watching Latics. If he ever breaks sweat it’ll be a miracle
McArthur – I’ve been wanting to see him start in place of Watson in that holding midfield role but I thought he was dire last night. First really poor performance I’ve seen from him though & it can’t help his performance having to cover for the other 2 midfield muppets. More time on the bench beckons
Gomez – Not a right winger in the memory of mon & kept drifting into the centre which left Stam exposed & meant we had little threat going forward down that flank. Way too slow in speed of body & thought to be a success at our current level in any position. Bit of a wuss in tackles too but a good effort he hit the bar with
Di Santo – By far & away the worst of a bad bunch of performances from our players last night. Most forwards would struggle to get much change out of playing up front on their todd with Cahill & Wheater marking them but even still any centre forward worth their salt would have made some form of decent contact with that header in the 2nd half & he had an opportunity in the first half where the ball fell to him 15 yards out facing & in the middle of the goal & his first instinct (instead of getting a shot in) was to turn his back to goal & hold the ball up. I’ve seen nowt from him in any of his performances that would indicate to me that he’s gonna be the answer to our centre forward prayers & it looks like his £4.5mill transfer fee can be added to the £6.5mill & £1.5mill wasted on other donkey centre forwards. Oh & when he thinks he’s been fouled but the ball braks to one of our players & we’re still attacking, Bobby ought to tell him that instead of sitting on the floor sulking he’d be of far more use getting up off his feet & into the penalty area. Likewise if he gives the ball away or a pass to him isn’t inch perfect, rather than just standing around looking pished off his job is to actually try to win the ball back or close the opposition downAs for Bobby – as I said it was obvious that he wasn’t overly keen on Latics having an FA Cup run so I should look at his performance in that light but to go 1-0 down with 20 minutes to go & not make a single substitution to try & add to the woeful tally of 1 shot on target was a bit of a poor show imo
Just one thing on this. Lopez is a right footed player so was playing out of position.
Will the boys be relaxing on the beach, taking in the nightlife, bonding as team, checking out the scenery
or
will Bobby have them running up and down that mountain before breakfast and tea ?, and a behind closed doors training match with the Deportivo Tenerife in between times :P .Theres certainly no mountains in Skegness.

:text-goodpost: BUT dont be bringing common sense to the argument. You should know it’s not allowed.
Such a tragic waste of a young life.
RIP young man.

Stop being awkward.
He joined the bandwagon in 1978, because we suddenly had some success, and jumped off when times got hard.
Jumped on again in 1997, when we won the 3rd division. Conveniently missing the hard years of the late 80’s and early to mid 90’s.
I said he was ‘the original JCL’. Capiché?
Never mind capiche or being awkward. You can’t be a JCL if thirty-three years down the line, you’re still watching the same football club. I bet that’s older than three quarters of the posters on this site. The phrase you’re probably looking for is ‘glory hunter’, but surely scruples can be forgiven when you’re a child in 1978, and surely everyone needs a trigger to make them watch a certain football team if there is no family tradition to do so?
Personally, I started going to Springfield Park in 1978 with my dad as an eight year old, but missed a vast majority of games between 1985 and 1996 due to a combination of playing football, playing rugby union, being away at university, then living out of the area.
I didn’t go to Canvey Island, nor was I one of the fifty on the rainy terrace at Lancaster/Runcorn/Carlisle (delete where appropriate), however, I attended games whenever I could, have been to numerous grounds in the UK and Europe watching other teams, but since 1978 have always considered myself as a Wigan Athletic supporter.
I bet there are many people who post on this site who can recount something similar, but who have still always considered themselves Wigan Athletic supporters despite not having been home and away season in, season out for thirty-odd years.
:text-goodpost:
I’ll second thatt :text-goodpost: :text-goodpost:
Hmmm as someone who has been to watch games at Anfield, Goodison, Elland Road, Burndown Park, Wembley, Old Trafford & various grounds in Scotland. Does this too mean I have had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus? :angry-soapbox: :angry-banghead:
From reading that short excerpt it states that Griff has indeed been to other grounds to watch other teams play however it does clearly say he followed Wigan for over 30yrs. :obscene-drinkingcheers:
Seems to me he is defininately a Latics Mon through & through .
I shall be putting up the nest boxes next week ready for the new breeding season. Baby budgies will soon be for sale. Most going cheep. What noise do the rest make? ;)
