Strength in depth. Allows us to change tactics based on the opponent and how the game is going, and if we play to that pace all season we may need to make some pretty regular subs.
Rumours he’s off to Sunderland. Last year his toys were thrown out of the pan because he wanted Championship football!!

Agree, but maybe he is a better player this year as he has matured? Jacobs certainly was at weekend.
I think a swap for Windass is good business though and as someone says we have Morsy, McDonald, Gibson which will be the core of the midfield I would think.
It isn’t actually a bad deal when you consider he would probably have gone for nothing in May or less than £4m in January.
We get him back probably until the end of the season and can assess the market properly for a replacement.
Powell looks to be staying as well so not bad business
You want insanity then the fact that Ipswich are saying that a bang average Championshp centre forward in Martyn Waghorn is worth a transfer deal of up to £8mill, is all the proof you need.Still more proof is that it appears the likes of Derby & Sheff Utd are prepared to pay it!!
Then there’s the fact that clubs at our level only get £7m from the TV deal so already they have overspent that plus wages, running costs etc etc. A number of clubs in this league are all running at a massive loss with the hope of one day making the PL.
Just wondering if you want(ed) other players with off field issues at the club Donny or whether their ability was more important?

Not sure anyone could see the positives of letting Powell go unless we sign someone better for less money but what are the chances of that happening?
