No that one was a break. Combined it with throwing the Accy game.
I was happy with that call tbh
2 defeats in 19.
As it stands we have 4 very winnable games in hand that give us a 6 point lead. We need to lose to Blackburn and drop a further 4 points provided they win them all for them to go above us.
Lets worry when games are level and we are behind shall we.
IF they win tonight AND beat us then the league would STILL be in our hands not theirs.
They should have played Rolling in the Deep by Adele just for the “we almost had it all” line.
Thought he would be a shrewd move. Turned out he was possibly worse than Mackay.
Brilliant article. Thank you. Could do another entirely on the violence, sour grapes and behaviour of Citehs disgusting fans. Not seen many headlines about those scum bags.Their whining has been fantastic.
Definitely not music.
I’d like to see a regular screen and it offers more advertising opportunities with corners, goal kicks and throws all being sponsored.
There isn’t too much I would change though.
We have more wriggle room than any of the others really in that we can afford to lose at least one game,no matter what anybody else does. Nobody else can say that. The potential problem is if we have any more cancellations and the squad gets overstretched, but we have our fate in our own hands with a little to spare.
If we fuck up on Sunday then the pressure will be on us! A draw would be a good result in my opinion!
Winning the league will still be in our hands not theirs.
1 or 2 changes and we will be ok Donny. 6 or 7 and we will struggle, but so will everyone else.
Personally fil I think we know we are dominant and once we get in front we just see the game out. Sometimes though if we don’t get an early goal they defend deeper and deeper and struggle to break them down.
It would be the sole reason if we balls it up for me Donny.
I would say it was the biggest win in my lifetime certainly but it won’t pay the bills.
We need to be playing Championship football next season especially with some of the clubs in and around the bottom 3 in that league. Not going up this season could mean we stay in this league for a couple of years and we can’t afford to do that.
Conceded crappy goals Egg but we did that all season. At least at the start we were scoring goals as well.
True
…. if I am honest I would swap Monday for a win Saturday.
Really….?
I’ve been following this club for over fifty years and that game on Monday night is right up there with the best, most memorable I’ve ever witnessed. They seldom come around but when they do they are priceless, unforgettable and irreplaceable. To say you would swap the euphoria and that fantastic experience on Monday night for a win on Saturday – which represents neither a crucial nor defining moment in the season – is just plain wrong, just as sacrificing the FA Cup win for Premier League status would have been in 2013.
Even if we do miss out on promotion as a consequence of this cup run I for one would not change a thing and certainly not for our moment of glory on Monday night.
Yeah Sammy. 100%.
In 2013 until the Huddersfield game I wasn’t that bothered about the cup but then we started to set club records and go further than we ever had in my lifetime. Granted I went to every game but I would rather have stayed up at that stage because financially we needed to. Once we got past Huddersfield things did change although I never expected us to beat Everton. I definitely wouldn’t swap winning the cup for staying up now.
Monday night was probably a better win than the cup final for the achievement of beating this City side, but winning the cup is going to do us no favours at all this season and let’s be honest and take the glasses off….we’re not going to.
We need to get out of this league and if this cup run prevents us from doing that then it’s a distraction that could set us back years. I won’t forget Monday night for as long as I live but promotion is and has to remain our goal.
I did say to friends after the game by text that promotion is our goal and wins like that are a bonus. Luckily when you’re as good as us though you can have both. ;)
We had conceded 12 in 7 (not exactly for fun I suppose) when he changed the tactics which was after the Bogdan, Norwich c*ck up. We did concede 4 at Forest as well.
Enough people talk about it though
Reading that mumofsevens twitter feed is great entertainment. Apparently Wigan fans were running on the pitch with empty bottles to throw at the city fans and the coins they threw were the new ‘boomerang’ coin that appear to be thrown FROM the city end but were actually thrown AT the city end.
