Pretty sad that you have to mention the rugby even after that win Lostock.
Not that it matters as it isnt a pissing contest but the 1000 or so wigan fans that were at The ANZ Stadium in Brisbane in 1994 would beg to differ. The fact that no other British side has been to Australia and won since (except Wigan again in 1997) shows the magnitude of that win.
Winning it from league 1 and looking at the sides left in it, semi finalists would be spurs chelsea and united probably, would have to be the best cup win in history. Yes I would love that to happen but if I am honest I would swap Monday for a win Saturday.
The cup run has been superb but it’s a bonus and nothing more. We have to be playing Championship football next season.
I got the train to work Tuesday as I was in no state to drive and a City fan stopped me as I was walking round Manchester (in my Latics coat) and was very complimentary. One of the City fans in the office hasn’t even spoke to me yet.

We were conceding goals for fun. He went defensive but it stifled our attack and Grigg went from 6 in 5 games to not scoring in about 20.
Joyce righly played damage limitation in December and looked to have turned the corner in January and then reverted back after the Utd game.
Obviously not historically, but i actually think that Monday was a bigger win than the final.
The gulf in the two clubs now is huge. Forget the 40 odd places as well. The money differences are enough and the way City have been playing and regularly putting 4 and 5 past people, to win that game AND nil them (first to win and nil them as opposed to just nil them. Knew we were something) is incredible.
Exactly. Bit like our jump from 4k to 7k upon moving to the JJB. Then of course from 11k to 20k when we made the prem.

They got 28k in division 2 some 20 years ago. Obviously plenty have jumped on the bandwagon but plenty were there “when they were shit”
