Who knows we may still have him on Friday night.
Nope. He’s gone.
That is basically my thoughts on it Zeb. At one point Martinez could re-decorate his office with apologies.
John Moss is totally re-writing this thread though tonight lol.
I can see Yanic ripping the arrogant gets apart and scoring a winner like his magnificent goal at Crewe last season.
3000 and another few thousand Latics fans in the home seats going mental.
Amazing.Good God I hope so. Would take a scabby one though
The Cup Final situation was funny because I thought it was a penalty and the referee bottled it, but I still think McManaman got the last touch and if it wasn’t a foul, which it was, it should have been a goal kick. The referees cheating soon backfired on him, and there were no complaints 30 seconds later.
I still pinch myself some days and can’t believe we won the FA Cup. The feeling when that header went in………………. I still get goosebumps when ever I see it.
My words to the guy next to me “we will just have to score from the corner as I don’t fancy extra time”
I think winning with a penalty would have taken the edge off it though.
I actually forgot the Chimbonda one and was referring to the Heskey one at The Emirates lol.
Good discussion TL and good to see things from the other side of the fence.
Do you believe we would have got the penalty we got at OT if the score was 0-0 or we were 1 behind?? I don’t.
Yes – It was nailed on[/quote]
We will certainly have to agree to disagree because so were 3 against Arsenal, 1 against Utd (Rio handball) and 1 in the cup final that led to THAT goal – maybe 75/25 that one.
Of course refs make mistakes but I do think a 50/50 involving a big club and a little club will only ever go one way.
They had more than one??

It was on OUR home ground. Right on half way. The one at OT was Connor Sammon who was sent off thanks to Ryan Giggs running 40 yards.
Of course refs make mistakes but they seem to make far more in certain places/situations.
Take the ref at the 2011 RWC Final for example. Clear penalty against NZ in the dying seconds that would have cost them the trophy on home soil. In France that gets given.
The Rooney incident was at home TL and Callum is one example compared to the several above and several others we could list.
I understand you defending refs and I understand it’s a tough job but you will never convince me, or most football fans, that the big clubs don’t get preferential treatment. There are far too many examples. It isn’t just football either.
The media has had a big say in it highlighting every poor call against the big clubs. Had Scholes rightly been sent off and Utd hadn’t won the title that year then the media and Sir red face wouldn’t have blamed Scholes they would have blamed the ref so in my opinion he bottled it. It never got a mention though.
Well what’s going to happen at the replay? I reckon East and North stand at £46-00 a seat for Utd and West and South for Latics at a tenner. Milk the Tourists.Replay? You think they’ll scab a draw against us??
I can not find anything about why Nob End don’t get the full allocation. There won’t be a block of 700 empty seats at OT on Sunday and fans are in the same stand.Who cares?
Personally I would love to see him come on with say 15-20minutes left just when everyone’s legs are getting abit tired regardless of the score.Said that last season.
More often than not the officials get it rightThe comment of a referee if I ever heard one ;)
There something dodgy in that Chorley water again ;)
They do it Blackburn though yes but I think the STs are well cheap for that reason.
