Deffo in town centre
Is it me or do we seem to look worse when we play the magical 442?
They might change it The Wigan Stadium but can’t see them adding the Athletic.
Shame though as it would do my facebook fishing a World of good.
Will and Yanic not starting shows exactly why WJ needs a clear out and bring his own guys in. We cannot begin to see what changes he makes on the field until he gets to know everyone. It also showed yesterday that Barrow needs a new position at the club.
Are you suggesting that the non-inclusion of Grigg and Wildschut was the reason we lost yesterday? Neither have impressed this season. The game was lost by rank bad defending.
I suppose we need someone to blame even if that same someone oversaw our first away win last week. Assuming of course he has been totally responsible for team selection.
Why do you suppose they haven’t been at their best? In and out of the side all the time and do you really believe that Barrow didn’t pick the side probably on WJs instruction. Once the manager has got his bearings I imagine that both Will and Yanic will start most games. Barrow worked with Robbie and his 4 successors and the style always seemed similar we need a change its stale and requires freshening up. Hopefully Warren will do that.
I agree. I’d like to see a clear out and start again but I doubt it will happen.
Learn the players names?
Why bother? I am hoping quite a few won’t be here long enough for it to matter.
I don’t think we have that bad a squad tbh
Are you talking Wigan rugby or Wigan Athletic?
Both ;)
We have some good players I just don’t think some are being utilised properly whilst others are low on confidence.
I think his first job is to get the players to believe in themselves and find their strengths.

A tough one and an hard decision to make for Mr Sharpe. Imagine actually being in his shoes and having to make those decisions with ten thousand or so others watching every move.
It’s done now Egg so let us all hope it is the right decision.
I recall him as a player and he didn’t take any prisoners. Heart on sleeve battler. At this moment in time and with his winning mentality I would expect something a lot different than what we have seen of late.
He my link up very well with Graham Barrow because they will both be very much aware of each other.
Remember Warren Joyce may have moved to us from Man Utd but his feet should be firmly on the ground from his football background. This fella won’t be no Billy Big Bollocks and we should hope he will not find that kind of player acceptable for us.
The more I look at this the better Sharpies hard thought out decision seems.Obviously I hope it’s the right decision.
Correct. As a Worldwide organisation they need to “please everyone” and the only way to do it is to have a blanket ban. Personally I couldn’t care less if players wear poppies or not.Despicable attitude that Eggy, you should care there’s a principle involved here, i’ll give you the benefit of the doubt though going off the posting time you were maybe pissed at the time!
Nope. It honestly doesn’t bother me. I wear one and so do my family. Outside of that it is each to their own as to whether they choose to wear one and if like James McClean they have a reason not too then that is their choice.
Destroying or disrespecting them on the other hand…..
It could be seen as a good appointment but it could be seen as a risk.
Personally, I wouldn’t have let Gary go so early and would have replaced him with someone with Championship experience even if they have been sacked a few times. Most Managers have been sacked even Jose who is considered one of the best. This is a tough tough league and we need someone who knows it inside out to get the best players in to do the jobs we need.
Then again, Joyce clearly has ability as a Manager even if he did have a good set of players at his disposal and if he can bring in a few Utd youngsters and get the best out of Powell then we’ll be OK.
But that was ok. Murdering British Servicemen doesn’t count to Jimmy boy.Hardly murder really.
This has needlessly been blown out of all proportion by FIFA.
Their stance is, “World football’s governing body prohibits political, religious or commercial messages on shirts”The poppy is none of the above in my mind, it’s a symbol of remembrance.
Maybe our FA should offer FIFA some royalties on any poppies sold in the UK. That should swing it for us!
I’ll play devil’s advocate but start by saying that I wear them & do so as an act of remembrance for those who’ve sacrificed their lives for our future’s
That said, I can see FIFA’s logic. To us it is a mark of respect & remembrance, but it’s clear just from James McLean’s stance that some other communities & nations don’t’ see it that way & FIFA can’t be seen to condone that but then refuse other nation’s requests for symbols that mean similar to them but different to others.
However if I was at the FA or playing then I would wear the armband anyway & take any punishment as I knew beforehand that they didn’t allow it
FIFA has kind of made a rod for its own back though by either allowing or not noticing the FAI’s tribute to the Easter rising on their shirts earlier this year
Correct. Side wins after manager sacked. Nothimg whatsoever to see here
Caldwell got 25 didnt he?
I’m more shocked that after it is in Australia next year that it’s in England after that.
