We had two on the bench. We brought one on but I don’t think he touched the ball.
Fortune is a good asset to have, but not alongside someone like Clarke who possesses the same attributes. Either Mckay or the lad from Liverpool need to start alongside him to feed off the good work he does.
EDIT – I also have no issue with loan players. If a player comes available who is better than what you have then you go for it. Harry Maguire for example is better than Leon Barnett.
The same team/formation has managed to win 4 away on the trot so clearly not clueless.
Our problem is home games and when people boo at 0-0 after 20 minutes because we dare to pass backwards, is it any wonder??
For the record, tonight I slagged Malky off for bringing a midfielder on when losing, but he is far from the anti-christ.
Fingers crossed MuttyDogShtye dont do nowt silly ;) :cheer:He’ll be comparing the attendance for his first game in charge to Mackay’s.
I didn’t applaud him when he played for us, I’m not going too when he plays against us.
Did tha applaud Shawn Edwards ;) when he played against Wigan. while he was at london.or who ever he went to. ;)
Slightly different circumstance but yes I did pre-match.
I don’t applaud poor players who come back though even if they did score important tries.
Ben Watson may have scored THAT goal but he was still shite for the most part.
Not been in there for a while, Eggy :)Surely you’ll need to go in to talk about it?
We can chat about the current venture :)Has it changed? Went in a while back and the food was pretty good.
No doubt tonight he will whip in a corner that they score from as opposed to the usual failing to beat the first man, or the occasional beating every man so it goes for a throw.
I didn’t applaud him when he played for us, I’m not going too when he plays against us.
The Great Escape
I’d think the last part would be pretty obvious TBH.
Early season – Scott Carson
Mid season – James McClean
Late season – The guy who scores the winner against Fulham, Rotherham and BrightonJermaine Pennant is leading the way so far then Egg, and he’s only played half a dozen games.
Looking that way, ha ha.
McClean gets my vote.
Winning four away games on the bounce no matter who against is tough and the players deserve credit as do the Management for applying the right tactics where needed.
We do need to start winning at home though. Hopefully we get that monkey off our back tomorrow night. Confidence at home is shockingly poor and with people constantly out to slag the team off at any given opportunity is it any wonder.
I forget who the former ref was but he said that, in isolation, the challenge was worthy of a caution BUT he agreed with the decision not to send him off as refereeing is not just about referee the incidents it is about refereeing the occasion and in light of the significance of the game it was best to leave Scholes on
To this day the comment baffles meHe is probably referring to the adrenalin being high amongst the Utd players because of the occasion. I understand it, but it doesn’t make it right.
Passion is high in a Wigan Saints derby and you sometimes get tackles a little higher than a normal game that go unpunished or are not punished in the same way. Doesn’t mean you can get away with anything though like the Ben Flower incident for example.
Scholes should have been sent off regardless of the occasion.
I love Mourinho, but I can’t stand Chelsea for them reasons.
Dirty players, always at the refs, constantly diving. Horrible team.
