Surely they are the same as the ones in the club shop are they not ?
I would think so. Players shirts in football seem to be the same size and weight as the replicas on sale. I could understand the issue if they were different like the rugby ones.
The 1750 is based on fans who paid to get in , myself and 2 mates got free comp tickets in the away end as we were walking to the ground , we couldnt have been the only ones.So that’s 1752. What about the supposed other 1000?
Looking at it I would have said that numbers were roughky the same on both Saturday and Sunday and around the 2000 mark but haven’t seen a full on shot of the stand on either day or indeed know the capacity of each block as I do at The DW.
There were a large number of empty seats behind the goal on the Sunday at the front as I moved to one in the second half and quite a few on the right hand side where I was sat in the first half. Obviously I haven’t seen the left side.
There you go. In the paper and on the net.
I do seem to recall that the Bolton incident was on the front page though, but seeing as Wigan is a football town (;)) you would expect that wouldn’t you?
Can’t find the exact one you’re looking for, but did find this one if this helps:

From a friend of mine whose family are big noises at Huddersfield, there were 1750 visiting supporters.
I’m gonna stick my neck out and say they’re wrong..
I’m not having that there was less than 2000 there.
I reckon it was somewhere around the 2300-2500 mark.
You can stick your neck wherever you want, but that’s the right number, believe me. I have absolutely nothing to gain by making it up. ;)
I don’t agree with the figure but it must be right.
Looked a good following when the camera panned right down the pitch. 2 and half-3000 I reckon.
Easily!
Also, there was an amazing topic on Huddersfield’s forum after the game, hailing us as the “worst set of fans [he had] ever seen”.
He went on to write that we DIDN’T make ANY noise until after we scored our 3rd goal? (Pretty sure when I watched it back, I could hear us singing before the first whistle, all the way through to the end – and loud too).
We then apparently went silent again when they scored, but did make a “little bit” of noise when our 4th went in.
Hilarious how bitter & deluded certain folk become after a good ol’ tonking!
I don’t think the noise travels very well tbh. I commented on the Saturday that there was more atmosphere in space but some Hudds fans said they were real loud.
20 February 2013 at 4:03 pm in reply to: The SDW and LOTP “my Dad is bigger than yours” thread #103708It’s £19 FFS chubsters……………    :lol:http://www.wiganwarriorsfans.com/wigan/?s=Viewtopic&o=836909
It’s more the facilities that people are complaining about. Would you have paid £19 at Macc for example? Saying that, the toilet facilities were better at Macc than the dug out hole you p*ss in at Castleford.
Oh, and the Scousers “we won it five times” chant – what are the exact words to that third line? Is it “in Istanbul”?Yes I believe it is
19 February 2013 at 9:22 pm in reply to: The SDW and LOTP “my Dad is bigger than yours” thread #103642It’s not often I stick up for anything to do with Wigan but this is ridiculous. You can’t blame the likes of Conroy, Jukesays for walking away. I can only go off what I have read on this forum and what I have seen at matches, but it sounds like the group was created with the best of intentions and the lads mentioned above put in a lot of time and effort to get things going. And 2011 saw the best vocal support from Wigan fans I have ever witnessed, things were obviously working.
Things then undeniably took a turn for the worse and the group, for whatever reason, attracted a lot of young, uneducated numpties who think they are Galatasaray fans all of a sudden. I don’t blame anyone for walking away at that stage and distancing themselves from what it is turning into a dangerous, mindless gang of cretins.
Didn’t know you was a brigantie , the egg?
I was part of the original group that started things and I still put the flags up at the top of the South Stand but that’s it now. I only do that really because there’s nobody else to do it.
The first bit is probably right lol
As I’ve said elsewhere today, if that is journalism, there are chances yet for me to change career!Absolute garbage, and following on from that Chelsea scouting report in the Mail, too.
I don’t know mate. I mean, we’ve all read your blog
Maybe they can get some advice from us…Our pitch has been spot on for the last couple of seasons.
It has. The guys do a great job.
WTF has that Jason Taylor guy been smoking?
I always thought I was one in a million but apparently it’s only one in a hundred
