The administrators brief isn’t to save us ….it’s to realise as much as possible for the creditors …that’s what they are ‘for’
I still think there is a chance we will be bought….the French/US group apparently bid only £5M last week, which was a stupidly low offer for the whole shooting match…and whether that was a cheeky first go or whether it represents their final offer….the Admins were never going to accept it.
So the sale of the ground, Euxton, and possibly the chippy, Realising maybe £6/7m …..may now mean that a further £5m is acceptable (for the football club and Christopher Park only)
There is also the possibility of another potential bidder who may be hanging back waiting for this to play out before they make a late bid
All clutching at straws I accept, but I still think the odd ‘straw’ is still hanging about.
If the initial plan was to sell the stadium separately then they would have done that on day one. The fact they are doing it now means that no credible bid has come in for the lot.
The bid from the French/American guys isn’t everything that Alan Nixon is painting out to be.
Sadly VAT, I think you’re right.
The training ground and stadium are not ours to begin with as I said somewhere else but the fact they are being sold off now either means nobody wants the full package (strange really why you wouldn’t), or more likely that nobody wants the club. Worrying times.
We’re all making assumptions Ali, it’s all we can do
As a rugby fan, I don’t want the stadium. Let the council have it and give the two clubs an equal stake. 50/25/25 for example.
Minimum outlay for the upkeep but they will receive the full profits from their home games.
If IL does buy it but doesn’t buy Latics then I don’t think it will affect the balance sheet of the football club too much provided we can take our matchday profits.
I keep thinking he will turn up on the final day and buy the lot back but it is looking less and less likely unfortunately.
Given the fact that the council own 15% of the stadium company and the caveats involved that it can only be used for rugby and football….perhaps it makes more sense to someone to rent the stadium rather than pay to run it. We can’t be kicked out of it so it’s one more payment that they wouldn’t need to make.
I feel like I need to point this out… Wigan Athletic Football Club do NOT own the stadium.

So at this very moment, who does ??? It’s all a part of the Wigan Athletic package, so why would you buy a football club and not the stadium ? Like I said Lenagan is cacking himself that his beloved Warriors will become a “spin of casualty” if this all goes wrong; and he will back any horse that means security of the Warriors.
They are all owned by the same company yes, but they are completely separate entities. It’s similar to the DW Sports store in town being closed but the DW Sports Fitness First gym still being open. Owned by the same person, two separate businesses.
If no offer comes in for the full package, then they will have to start to sell them individually. It isn’t asset stripping because they aren’t our assets in the first place.
If they have sold the stadium then I would presume that there has been no offer for the football club, or alternatively, someone would like to buy the football club but doesn’t want a stadium (company) that loses £1m a year.

Apologies if this sounds a silly question, but whom do I contact with regards joining the supporters club?
Maybe some fans will stop blaming Royle and Jackson now
If anyone was still in any doubt how bad the situation now is, paragraph 1 of the Administrators’ statement spells it out. If a deal isn’t signed by 31st August they are shutting us down. Short of winning the Euro lottery on Friday not sure what we can do about it. We really are about fecked. Pollard may be our last hope
Shutting us down? Yet only a couple of days ago these lot were talking about starting the season in administration and indeed four friendlies have been organised. So they said.
It isn’t quite that bad if no contract is signed by then but it isn’t exactly great either.
Agree runcorn, but I’m not surprised passions are boiling over at the minute
The supporters club name on the kit should look good though
Egg, do we know the total debt the club has?. This loan agreement appears to be as clear as mid.
Feck all according to SSB…
Aside from the football debts for transfers, he isn’t far out
I do not knee but there is no money in the bonk to pee it
