The Arnold Palmer game looks a bit like Subbuteo Cricket.
Speaking of Subbuteo, I used to play it on the carpet as well as the dining room table wasn’t square. As our house is on a hill, the coin toss was always interesting as you factored in whether you fancied playing up hill in the first half and hoped to romp home in the second or build up a lead and defend like buggery.
Whilst we’ve looked a much better side than last season on the whole, we are still making the same mistakes. Failing to take our chances and making total cock ups at the back.
We should have won that game easily on Saturday from the balance of play yet we miss a hatful at one end and gift them two at the other with piss poor marking and too much fannying about. We just need to be that little bit smarter and we’ll be fine.
So because he helped turn our season around last season we should let him off for his piss poor displays this season? If it was once or twice then maybe I would agree but personally on this seasons displays I have no idea how he is in the side.
Didn’t see this reply until after I had posted mine (Which is more or less the same reply).. but I 100% agree.
Whats the alternative?
Drop him for Jones who cant beat a man or cross a ball?
Lets be honest if he could beat a man as people think he should and cross a ball we would have a left sided Valencia playing for us or more likely not playing for us.
Personally with a fit back 3 I would play Figs there as we did against Chelsea. With an injury in the back 3 (after the rise of Lopez in the last few games that would prob be 2) I would move Stam across to the left. He played there plenty of times in Holland I believe and whilst his crosses may not be as accurate as Beausejour’s I would say his all round game is better.

Yes, he can put a good ball in every now and again but Ryan Taylor could take a good free kick. Doesn’t mean they should be in the side “just in case”
Oh, I don’t know… a certain David Beckham made a career out of it.
David Beckham could also shoot, cross, pass to practically any part of the pitch from anywhere else, tackle and take a good corner.
Jean Bousejour can’t can he? He falls apart in the box, gives the ball away cheaply and can’t defend. Hopefully with 3 fit centre backs we’ll push Figs forward.

He always gets slated by me and those around me because of exactly that.

You got that right. I wonder what colour the sky is on his planet.
Whatever… I have better things to do with my life than squabble with a clueless child of a Wigan fan over pointless minutiae. You ain’t worth the banging of head on wall frankly. You support a club that has abandoned it’s identity for a quick buck many, many times in the past and has 20,000 “lifelong”, “dedicated”, “passionate” “fans” that have mysteriously and magically all somehow appeared out of the woodwork in just the last 10 years. Your club has no history, no soul and is a manufactured, money-making, franchise entity with a plastic, Johnny-Come-Lately, Glory-hunting supporter base. And you think you’re in a position to condemn MK for the same?
Personally, I love the comment that changing our shirt from blue and white stripes to blue and back again is the same as them changing the colours of Wimbledon from blue to white. Incredible.
He’s originally from St Helens I think.

It depends on the price of ticket LOTP it could well challenge the massive 6000 for your play off game with any luckMy tickets for the playoffs cost £21 each. Not sure we would sell over 6k at that price.
not many renewed for the 2013 Souper leek season eh just under 8000 are you one btwJust short of 8500 actually ;)
I have mine BTW.
Why don’t they go the whole hog and include the Challenge Cup Final and Grand Final? But even if that is the reason, how can every team be allowed to include 30,000 plus in their average? Surelt it should be divided by 6, therefore an attendance of 5’000 plus should be taken into their averages. As it stands almost 200,000 people are being counted.
Not sure how many they count but I don’t think they count all 30k each.
It WAS a penalty and a red card and kilLed our chances stone desd.Need to put it behind us quickly and get the three points on Saturday. Is it just me or has Kone got a terrible first touch ? So many times last night he lost control of simple balls to his feet when under minimal pressure .He put his shoulder towards Cisse’s shoulder as you do in a shoulder charge. Cisse went down like a bus had hit him, 50,000 Geordies shouted “why aye man thats a penalty to the toon that” in that annoying horrible barely audible accent they have and the ref gave it.
Had Kone or Franco gone down under a similar challenge from Collocini then i’m 99.9% sure he would have waved play on.
