Gomez for getting himself banned of course
You’re quite right though (i guess even you have to be every now and again). The game is on its arris.
The North Stand for the Bradford game was not free. It was sold to Heinz for a reduced fee. What they do with them is their choice but Wigan RL did NOT give them away.
There were 10000 HOME fans there on Friday and 7000 HOME fans v Catalans. Il expect the same v Bradford. Well, more actually because the tickets wont be 19 21 or 26 pounds.
Yes, i’m afraid it’s a very old one and a very false one.Don’t tell me that. You’ll be saying Father Christmas aint real next.
Bobs comments didn’t help really as the refs don’t like to be criticised, but im glad he said it. It needed saying.
GOMEZ ;)I thought it could be him until I saw the word ‘footballer’
clutching at straws there egg boy, so saints only brought 1,522?????????
sure they did rugger bugger.wafc are better supported in a so called rugger yorky league town, END OF STORY SWEET CHEEKS…………..debate all you want
No. They brought 2552ish because the nature of the unreserved South Stand means that between 500 and 1000 seats need to be left empty.
No idea what you’re on about 30. If you’re on about the wedding fiasco then that was a cup game so isnt included in those figures above but il refer you to the comment that neither side get crowds outside of season tickets.
It might be heresy to some but I watched that game last neet & really enjoyed it – the result was a bonus too!!!
as for the play offs – at the end of the day are they really that different from the system in football where the team finishing 3rd in the championship who are often streets ahead of the others (points wise) can get pipped to promotion by the team who finish 6th?Not really no.
They also use a playoff system to decide the Champions in a number of football leagues around the World such as:
The A League (Australia)
Copa Libertadores
The Argentine Premiera Division
Liga MX (Mexico)
Belgian Pro League
MLS (Granted to size of Country)Countries such as Greece and Holland hold playoffs to decide the Champs League entrants.
Don’t forget of course that you can be crowned Champions of Europe without ever being the Champions of your own Country.
oh and before i go for a pint later…………..just for lotp (he’ll not be on here now until next year, but anyway…….)
maurice, belgian bradley, shane wayne, ratboy, will philkinson, WEP new editor x, wigan council, all stewards on match days, ronnie iraqi on t/sh*te, donny loneghan, maureen owt chippy on gidlow lane, all worryers plastics who sit in pub watching man yoooo, primark, ellgren, ball & boot dweller’s, owd fashioned lumps in anvil…………….
cheer up yeah, you can watch a PROPER LEAGUE NOW TILL NEXT YEAR
How long before kick off was that? The players haven’t warmed up FFS.
Anyway whilst I don’t like to feed trolls I’m not in the mood for people taking the p*ss out of either of the two clubs I support so here goes……
Semi final of the league, biggest game of the season – 12334.
Semi final of a major cup competition for the first time. Arguably one of the biggest games in the clubs history – 12181.
Latics biggest home gate in 2012 so far is 22187 against Newcastle. Wigans was 21522 against St Helens. The home ends were sold out for one of those games. A clue to which one being that the home side lost as opposed to winning 4-0.
The average away following last season for Latics games was 3600 prior to the Wolves game (I know I worked it out to shut some rugby fans up last week). The av Latics home crowd therefore (including the Wolves game and using the away average) was 15033. Granted the Wolves away following was probably less than 3600 so that figure may be slightly higher.
The average away following at rugby games this season was around 950 according to my sources. The average home crowd was therefore 15092 (this is just for the 13 regular season Super League games)
So, whilst Latics may get higher crowds on a weekly basis when you take away the visiting supporters the home gates are practically the same (the Latics average will be higher than the rugby one but only by 00s and not the 000s that some on here would have you believe). When both sets of fans are asked to pay for extra matches that aren’t included on their season tickets they don’t turn up in the numbers you’d expect them too.
Yes there are far more football fans in Wigan than there are rugby fans but unfortunately they all choose to support Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton, Man City and even the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. Wigan Athletic v Wigan rugby fans are pretty much even whether the people on here or the people on rlfans like it or not.
Jimmy thur had his worst game for us since joining from Hamilton, something not reet there, maybe still has back problems. He seemed ok on Tuesday night.
You put your right leg in
Your right leg out
In Out In Out
Shake it all about
You do the James McCarthy and you turn around
Thats what its all about
whooooooa James McCarthyAre we doing a full team to the hokey cokey?
Nope.
I wasn’t shocked to see Figueroa lose his man for the goal.
As stupid as the rules are, we knew them at the start of the season.
Is a few years old that tale. It’s my favourite story to tell about how thick Yanks are.
We need to start Miyachi out wide imo. He looked really dangerous midweek and offers that bit of unpredictability that a side like us needs.
