Most surprising fact of the day was that Dowd, after chatting to his Chelsea heroes all afternoon, gave the pen. and sent him off.
Good old Phil.
He must know those Chelsea lads like he’d know his kids, as it was the SECOND week in a row that he’d reffed them!
It said so in the programme, when it said about their ‘Last Time Out’ which was against Spurs on Sept 20th.
Howard Webb was the ref for the Chelsea/Spurs game.
If he is unattached and a free agent then can’t we sign him when we want?
Unfortunately with 4-5-1 (or whatever the f*ck we’re playing) I fear another hammering.
Against sides like this you need to dig in and poot your foot in, not try and pass round them.

Had the Hull game been a standard league match then Chelsea. Had Hull been league and Chelsea cup – Chelsea.
I totally oppose the idea of 7 or 8, or even 9 or 10 year olds being “signed up” by anyone.Let them play football for God’s sake.
Let them dribble, shoot, and everything else that age does when playing football naturally with their mates. Far far far too young to be “Centre of Excellence”
The parents are living THEIR dream, not the kid’s
Totally agree
25 September 2009 at 2:29 am in reply to: It looks like both clubs are struggling to get bums on seats #9643Egg, its the same as saying the team wich finishes 13th or 14th in the prem still has a chance of winning the league and being the so called best team in the country, no matter how much rubbish you come out with, you can’t justify it.
I am not having ago like, just pointing out.As I said – I don’t agree with it. IMO you finish 1st after 27 games you’re the best. Simple. Yes 8th have the chance to win it, but it’s highly unlikely (cas lost to us btw)
When they moved to 14 teams they should have stuck with the top 6 imo, but i’d still prefer first past the post.
25 September 2009 at 1:58 am in reply to: It looks like both clubs are struggling to get bums on seats #9640Whilst I don’t agree with the playoffs everybody knows the rules at the start of the season. RL isn’t the only sport to use a ‘playoff’ system though is it?
NFL, MLB, NBA etc etc
And whilst the playoff to be promoted is different in the fact that you don’t become champions, a team could finish 3rd by 1 goal on gd and not be promoted to the prem because they lose to a dodgy decision in a game against 6th (with a few key men injured) who they finished 17pts clear of. The said team in 6th then get promoted to the PL and make millions in one season, only for third place to see their best players sold and them struggle for a while. (see Ipswich the year we were promoted. Had we finished third we would still be in the champ now if not lower imo) Not exactly fair, but again everyone knows the rules.
The playoff crowds are always quite low but many believe the reason is that the clubs don’t get the receipts but the RFL. Announce a crowd of 8k when theres around 10k on and pocket the money. (still a shit crowd I agree, but it makes sense)
Robbing get
should have saved the first two !
The third was a cruel deflection.Watched it in’t Wheatsheaf in Leyland on Albanian TV; cracking commentary.
i agree with you about kirky, not the same player since spink left.
btw no wonder our support is sh it. the pubs were full of ‘supporters’ like you.
So if I watch away games in the pub because I can’t afford them anymore am I not a real fan even though i’ve had a st for 12 years and went to 90% of away games from 2002 – 2006? (and saw lh latic at most of them)
Mickie James has an awesome arse, and Trish is just well…..Trish
19 September 2009 at 5:22 am in reply to: It looks like both clubs are struggling to get bums on seats #9114Is it reet though a team finishes eighth is champs , i might be getting confused like :shock:COULD be Champions but it would be very tough
Maybe they just pick a random PL side and pick us?
Forgot to add that this year I’m going for Arsenal to win 3-0 and Van Persie to score first. Probably not get very good odds though!20/1 with Tote
Legend.
I’d have to give a top 5:
Undertaker, Bret Hart, Mr Perfect, Randy Orton and Yokozuna
If we go there with a total football mentality then 3 or 4.
