Maybe he reads social media because it happens on there every week. Vat got his knickers in a twist over said comments and then went on about us being in the Prem and winning the cup. Exactly what Cook is referring to. People thinking we are above what we are. Plenty others do it on twitter.
His comments in the press are exactly that. In the press. I doubt the players care because they will go off what he says in the dressing room.
My issue with sacking him is still who replaces him because another warren joyce malky mackay style appointment will set us further back than being relegated under Cook. In my opinion anyway.
Consensus of opinion has always been…“He is safe (Cook, in his job), as long as we don’t fall into the bottom three”.
Hmmmm….well then?
Bottom 3 is exactly where we deserve to be as well. Table doesnt lie.
Not now it doesn’t no, but all these times we’ve been out of it it has been. Lying bastard.
Been waiting all night to post that haven’t you?
Personally I’m not concerned where we are in November but will agree it doesn’t look good. IF we are still in there after Reading and Luton then you may get your wish.
We were in there earlier on in the season too.
Cook out!
One thing Cook seems to have is his share of luck and no doubt he will pull a win from the hat on saturday to buy more time and silence the doubters again.
The performance by Latics last night was not the best but again they were met with an indifferent side who were taking us very lightly and 3 points should have been won in my opinion.
same old story.
The attitude of the players near the end was appalling as they seemed to be accepting a late goal would go in and had no intentions of pushing forward to grab a goal of our own.
massive faults in this current Latics team , arguably one of the worst of the past 20 seasons in my view.Taking us lightly? Piss off. It really does stick in some people’s throat when it comes to giving us any credit. No denying we’ve been mainly crap for a while now, but credit where it’s due, we took on Millwall at their own game and came away from there with a point more than both Leeds and Preston managed and with bit of good fortune it could have been 3. It wasn’t stylish but we looked more effective than we have for a while.
As for the players attitude at the end, in case you hadn’t noticed (more likely conveniently ignored) after our substitutions and change of shape we had more chances than the home team. Garner had a decent chance, MacLeod shot straight at the keeper, Robinson shot wide and their defender cleared one off the line from directly under the bar.
And before the rose tinted/happy clapper “insult” gets dragged out, I have admitted above that we have been pretty crap a lot of the time this season. But I refuse to wear dark tinted specs just as I refuse to wear rose tinted ones. I make my judgement on what I see, not what I’ve already decided.[/quote]
Tough to disagree
We last won away in April which is 7 months ago, or 4 and a half when you take the off season out. 1 win in 12 is a poor enough record without you making it worse!! THIS IS A JOKE BTW!!
3 were there for the taking which is why he made two attacking substitutions. Massey was brought on to inject some pace to said attack and Windass played as the striker. Who do you suggest he should have taken off to bring said players on or what other changes would you have made?
Nobody is happy with our away form and in some cases his tactics have been crap. Last night they weren’t and we picked up a good point against a side who had dropped just 7 at home losing once and who have beaten two of the top 3.
Why can the supposed glasses wearers manage to mention when Cook f**** up (which he does often) and yet the likes of you and Brownbill are unable to give him any credit? I’m surprised you’ve not mentioned him being a Liverpool fan yet.
So we don’t want a manager who shouts at officials for making crap decisions (he shouts plenty at the players also) we don’t want a manager who just stands there (martinez was constantly slagged off for it) and we don’t want one who watches the game from the stands like John Benson did.
Interesting.
Of course we were waiting on them scoring, thats what you do when it happens every week. Same way you wont back against the scousers nowadays till the whistle goes. Fact is, they didnt score. And seeing as we created chances in the last 5 minutes and brought on a winger and a striker in the like for like swaps you’re on about i wouldnt say we sat back. Or would you rather he took Mulgrew and Dunks off and played 1-4-5?
Exactly my point JR. Am I happy at losing a lead twice? No. Am I happy with a point? Yeah. It’s possible to be both.
Take horcs local team chorley (just messin pal). 2 up away at top of the league, drew 2 all. No doubt their fans are well happy with a point but at the same time it’ll be a long drive home having been 2 up.
We still have plenty of issues away from home there’s no doubting that, but tonight we played well.
And why you may feel they’re not a good side, only 1 side has won there all season and they have beaten Leeds and Preston. Tough place to go I’d say.
Or negative glasses on again to find any way to slag cook despite a good performance and a good result. When he made the change we were far from on top and even the commentator was talking about how they were on top and pushing to win it.
Possibly he makes a different change if we aren’t 2 wins from 30 odd games but seeing as they didn’t score or look like it much after I’d say it worked well.
Were we on top when he brought Kipre on? Looked to me like they were well on top and by going THREE at the back it restricted that which allowed Sterling and Robinson to get forward again.
He then made two attack minded subs bringing Massey and Windass on.
Nobody is hammering us away from home so I don’t think 3 and 4 nils will be right but I do think we will lose.
