Thanks for the update Egg, look forward to it. Hope you’re back for Sunday.
On the way to the airport now pal so I’ll be there. Don’t think my dads bothering though.
That Canvey Island defeat still keeps me awake at night TBH but was the catalyst for Uncle Dave giving Jagger the backing he wanted and we were Premier League 4 years later and won the thing just over a decade later.
I always say in sport for every win over a City you need a loss to a Canvey Island or an Altrincham in the 90s because you appreciate the City wins that little bit more.
I’ll be honest he looked shite against Stoke as did the lad from Wolves, but I think we have been ruined with Reece. No loanee will ever seem decent again.
I have a massive superstition about that. I’ve purposely stayed downstairs in big games if we have scored why I was at the bar. Can get quite messy if it’s still open

We used to always provide one between us (im on holiday so not there tonight) but recently they have recorded them and put them online so we stopped.
If Jay doesn’t provide one then I’ll at least make sure there is a link to the recording up asap :)
Circa 1994. Being given a fiver to get in and chucking the change in a bucket to pay the players wages.
Must have worked as I got pics with most of them in the supporters clun afterNobody forgets a horc and donnyspage singathon
I seem to recall it being mentioned on here before about a game in which the Andy’s stand was split
And where do you think the money came from to ensure we had those budgets?
Thanks neon, but we deserve laughing at for the crowd alone. Let alone losing two semi finals by a score of 68-14.
Well I was proven right because we stayed up despite you, cupwinners and the rest of the “we should be winning the champions league” crew saying we were doomed.
As for this season, I said we would struggle again because, well, that is the club we are at this level and it will take 2 or 3 seasons before that even remotely changes.
Lol, proper troller,
As for Champions league ? were abouts Stu ?. Me think you’d be a good candidate for the next Specsavers campaign.
I said were sh1t away (true results don’t lie)
Cook is batting above his level (true long ball big mon dont work)
If we fail at home along with the away record we will go down (true bigger clubs have yet to come to the DW)
As for “We need a couple of seasons” the way were playing that won’t happen.
If things improve yes I will applaud him but I won’t applaud boring negative long ball who’s playing were football.
It’s not good to watch and will not keep us in this Division. When will he see like thousands of others we need a ball player in the middle just to keep things moving.
Too many Indians no chiefs comes to mind.
(Sits back and waits for Stu to troll again)[/quote]Personally I always think at home that we try to take the game to sides early doors but 1 up front means we usually fire plenty of balls across the box but have no end product. If we score early we usually stay well on top, otherwise sides wise up and force us into route one. We never seem to change our style to counteract that.
Away from home we are completely different. We seem to setup not to lose (which I get as the away side never goes all out early doors but is annoying when it’s a game we feel we can win) but are too scared to go forward. I have no idea what fixes it TBH as for me it is clearly a mental thing. The number of goals we concede in minutes 40-50 is shocking and basically kills any form of game plan stone dead.
Dave Whelan massively bankrolled the club from 95 until about 2008/2009. Bobbys tenure here was always impressive because he did it with an ever decreasing budget. Our time to return to the top flight was under Rosler and his signings were dreadful.
Preston will always be a bigger club than us on paper, as will Bolton. Seemingly history carries massive weight in the club size stakes.
The new owners have spent quite a bit of money on the stadium, academy and squad but have stated from day one that they won’t risk the financial future of the club. That means signing lower league players and hoping they step up. That includes managers. So those touting Hughton as a replacement are way off. Cowley would have been our best bet but no saying how he will do. Jones is failing miserably at Stoke and they have plenty money.
As for posts, we clearly have a lightside and darkside again one of which goes missing every week.
Where you one of the 5000 that attended or one of the 6000 that didn’t attend?Agree that it was a shit performance by Wigan. In fact the whole season has been one of mediocrity.
I was there mate yes
