Agree Donny…some folk enjoy turd polishing. Not playing Grigg when fit and replacing him with Clarke also offloading Vaughan and Macca no game time . All reasons why we in the mire and yet all I hear is the Cookie cults “were not bottom 3” chant. Dont think I’ll see a worse away record at this club in my time yet had it been any other club he’d have been long gone.
What nobody seems to mention is the amount of points dropped from winning positions by conceding late goals. The stats were given out on the PWU podcast last week and it’s frightening. That’s where I will defend Cook. He is hardly to blame for players switching off late on like they did on Wednesday night for example. Yes he can change his team selections and drop players that do it but we have a reasonably small squad and can’t be dropping everyone.

Naismith hasn’t played for a while so no doubt he was brought off because he had clocked up the metres ran. Cook seems to folloe the stats for his subs as we’ve said before.

Well, yeah obviously. I specifically meant that we will go down on the last day having been out the bottom 3 all season not that it matters how we go down if we do.
They have told us that. The aim is to invest heavily in our youth system so that we can start to produce our own players (which in turn we will probably sell for big profits) and the ultimate plan is to be back in the premier league. How they achieve that is their business.
Whelan was great of course he was, but he was a bit too happy with the trigger finger at times. The side that Benson had would have pissed that league under Mathias for example, and it wasn’t until Jewell (who would have been sacked in his first season normally) that he finally gave a manager time and look what happened.
We need to stay up this season one way or another and then hopefully we will have a more attractive budget for Cook to work with next season.
