Filmoss you weren’t at the game so you don’t know what your talking about in all fairness and it grinds my gears that you want to be in the thick of the discussions on here gloating to people who did bother.

Why if you are so uninterested as to not watch a game would you suddenly have so many opinions on it and what went wrong?

Saying that when you have been to the games you don’t seem to know what your talking about half the time either…

Comments that further back up Yosser’s opinion of you ! I will however fill you in on the point that I was trying to make that you clearly missed. I was trying to say that it sounded like the same old same old tactics were being dished up and it is those very same tactics that irk so many people week in week out ! If the first 11 cant really pull off those sort of tactics then I am pretty sure that the fringe players cant ! Don’t forget my Manchester friend, that this is a forum and all views and opinions are welcome !
Yeah cheers for that mate.

Fair comment about the tactics but I think mine was a fair question about why if you have no interest in watching a game do you have such an interest in debating about the outcome of it.

One I see you swiftly swerved my window cleaning friend.

And if I am “mancunian” then so are you but you have more pressing matters than a geography lesson at hand.
Your attempts to wind me up are futile, give up ! I had no interest in spending any money on going to watch the game but was interested enough to check out the commentary from time to time ! Does that answer your question my Manchester Utd neighbouring friend !
I am not trying to wind you up, I prefer the hard to get type and you’re as easy as breathing ;)

Spending your money?!?!?! a tenner out of the so called mint you earn out of wiping peoples windows for them?

Are you still angry at Martinez because his team put 3 past Villa? ( the team you used to support :silly: )

A fair answer to my question would have been “because I like stoking up arguments on here” of which I have seen you increasingly guilty of recently.

      Sadden.
Tenner, diesel and sundries adds up to more like £20. As for Villa, they were my team as a school lad and I only saw them once back then. Do you think all Wigan fans have followed Wigan since the year dot ? Where do you think the other 8000 or so Wigan regulars where yesterday ? Those that bothered are the minority here so wake up and smell the coffee and stop this blind faith idiocy. Cup football under Martinez is always going to be a dull affair and worse than the first team stuff which I hasten to add aint been that good thus far this season bar a couple of games !
What blind faith idiocy??

I came on today and made a comment of which players I thought did okay and which I thought didn’t.

The result is I get accused of having blind faith from you and being unable to have a reasoned view and wearing blue tinted specs off Yosser  ?!?!??!

If you want to throw your hat in with that mong then good luck to you but its like water off a ducks back to me as you are as fickle as they come hippy boy and Yosser I am led to believe doesn’t even go to games anymore.
He’ll be calling you a troll next after showing him up again
I wont because he has his own views and is capable of debate unlike you ! If you think I have been shown up then you are sadder than I initially thought ! As for the blind faith comment Sally, I was referring to your positive spin on Martinez, you never seem to see his faults and that to me is blind faith !
Bit ironic saying I dont have any views then you go on a rant about my views on Bobby have you been on the funny fags again ?

You know that is not going to happen egg with games either side of that fixture against Fulham and Sunderland points are more vital in the league than the cup sorry to say but there you have it

Jeff Wright was the original Jordi Gomez.

He certainly was. I can hear the groans as if it was yesterday. Oh, actually there was the same groans yesterday.
Yes nothing much changes from those days to today most fickle Wigan fans would much sooner see a headless chicken type footballer than technical type player

Champioship side, Leigh Centurions claimed an emphatic victory over an young Wigan outfit in their first match of 2013.

The same fixture this time last season produced a much more competetive fixture, but the Warriors were again unable to claim a win despite fielding a stronger squad which included debutant Scott Taylor.

It didn’t take the Centurions long to stamp their authority on the game with Matt Gardner crossing little before the ten minute mark to open the scoring. Forward, Sam Hopkins then took a short ball to power over and give his side a ten point advantage.

Full-back, Greg McNally had a try ruled out for offside from a chip over the top, but Matt Gardner scored again shortly after to symbolise Leigh’s dominance.

Steve Maden then gave the Centurions a 20-0 lead at the interval despite Wigan protests to referee, Rob Webb.

They started the second half in the same fashion they played the first, but Simon Finnigan was unable to plant the ball successfully after it was touched by a Wigan player in-flight.

The Warriors were penalised on the Centurions attack but Chris Rowe spilled another impressive short ball from half-back, Martyn Ridyard.

Ridyard then booted a 40-20 which again allowed the home side excellent field position which was converted into points by new signing Sean Penkywicz who scrambled over on the last.

Ryan Brierley then claimed the next try but his half-back partner, Martyn Ridyard was unable to add the extras and take the score to 32-0.

Jamie Doran then scored a mere consolation for the Warriors which was converted by Ryan Hampshire to make the final score 30-6.

Leigh: McNally, Maden, Littler, Gardner, Pownall, Ridyard, Coyle, Hopkins, Beswick, Parker, Finnigan, Goulden, Aspinwall.
Replacements: Brierley, Penkywicz, Bricoe, Nicholson, Ostick, Taylor, Duffy, Rowe, Thornley.

T: Gardner 2, Hopkins, Maden, Penkywicz, Brierley
              G: Ridyard 3/6

Wigan: Murphy, Tierney, Thornley, Burgess, Manfredi, Carberry, Hampshire, Dudson, Tomkins, Taylor, Gelling, Lloyd, Burke.
Replacements: Greenwood, Spencer, Lever, Crosby, Farrell, Pugsley, Bullock, Doran, Crow.

              T: Doran
              G: Hampshire 1/1

              Referee: Rob Webb

Man of the Match: Martyn Ridyard (Leigh)
              Attendance: 2,883

              HT: 20-0
              FT: 30-6

Back to the football. The commentator on yesterdays game said that Wigan’s build play up was very slow and pedestrian and that it consistently ended in nothing ! He mentioned the plethora of sideways and backwards passes. It is these very tactics that get people irked and as soon as RM realises that they are fruitless tactics then we can maybe move forward ( Literally ! ) Some consider me a negative fucker but they need to look at the tactician now and again. The grumbling and moaning from all around us within earshot on matchdays backs up my frustrations !

A return to the big fat sam type of football then :P

Bolton home if you want to be picky…..but the point was meant to be that all this dung about taking time/skill/ patience to build a resilient squad granted on a restricted budget has progressed not a jot in 31/2 seasons.Still struggling with any consistency (apart from the last seasons still unfathomable run in) and no confidence we will do so any time soon.

Yip it’s da ja vu all over again trouble is as i have said before the first inklings of unrest as taken up until January this time unlike previous years where at one point it was after a friendly against St Mirren
