Max Power has signed according to Worbo on Vital :woohoo:
Tranmere Rovers attacking midfield star is set to be unveiled as a Latics player after the two clubs agreed a deal for the youngster.
The 21 year old is out of contract with the newly relegated Wirral club, but has still cost the Latics a fee due to his age. Power had a great season last time out on a personal level, making 53 appearances, 45 of which were in the league, scoring 12 goals. He has a total of 130 appearances for Tranmere over three seasons and attracted interest from Celtic in the January transfer window.
Power is a player at the right age, the right price and with bags of potential and will hopefully prove to be an excellent signing.
Wigan Athletic are set to make another bid for Chesterfield winger Sam Clucas, according to FLW sources.
Wigan are set to make another bid for Chesterfield’s Sam Clucas
League One rivals Scunthorpe United are also interested and could rival Wigan’s offer for the winger. The 23-year-old had a fantastic season for Chesterfield in League One following their promotion from League Two, and his performances helped push Chesterfield into the play-offs, where they were beaten by Preston North End over the two-legs of the semi-final.
He has arisen as a target for a number of Championship sides, including Cardiff City, Reading and Leeds United, while Wigan had already registered their interest in the former Leicester City man.
The Latics had a supposed £500,000 bid turned down by the Spireites last month.
Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins has been quick to add to his squad this summer as Scott Wiseman, Scott Laird, Jack King, Stephen Dawson, Isaac Assenso and Charlie Goode have all joined the Iron so far.
Wigan are looking for established League One talent as they look to dust themselves off and go again after a shock relegation from the Championship last season. Their only signing of the summer so far is goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell from Walsall.
