Exactly after mauling around the lower leagues Hartlepool away in the FA Cup match springs to mind I’m sure the sea froze that year to visiting Wembley in a major cup Semi final it’s just unbelievable if you just think about it
How many have we sold then
Nowhere near 18k
On first glance, and especially to the media and the rest of the ‘football nation’, that looks very poor and embarrassing. But in all reality, we average what? About 15-17,000 home supporters of late?
So really, if we take around that many, its akin to, say Everton, taking 30 odd thousand. Or United taking 70 odd thousand. (not that they could)
We are what we are….and what we are is a small club from a small, Northern town. An economically chsllenged town. We ARE ‘little Wigan’, and yes, we ARE ‘takin the piss’. So what if we don’t ferry fans in on ‘Eire travel’ coaches every week. Thank god we don’t have to enter a bloody ‘ballot’ for tickets. (like Liverpool fans. And they have to buy a fancard for the privilege)
We are constantly judged by our crowds, yet the way I see it, our crowds are alright. Deary me! How we could only dream of having 20k crowds on only a few years ago. Lets not be too harsh on our own attendances. We had 17,000 home fans on against Newcastle. I remember when we had 1,700 on! (as I bet do others) It wasn’t all that long ago.
We could end up with something like 90% or more of our regular home support at Wembley. I mean mainly proper fans, not day trippers. We need to emphasize this at all times to any press or media who push for fan interviews or comments. I’m sure no other club could boast such a thing. We should be proud.
platitudinous
Should both sets of fans sing No one likes us we dont care
I think we’ll go 1 per st holder and then sell to those with sf tickets. That sounds logical goodpost
Even though everything now appears to have calmed down a bit,
Not at our workplace it hasn’t the fat barstewards where wobblying in delight a few week back at our potential demise again but since a trip to Wembley beckons and results have been improving the lard arses have calmed down a bit Just shouting come on Millwall now and QPR the fat gets
I aint received a email from are Bobby
Not particularly well-informed.At one time, Wigan were everybody’s second team. I suppose that if you keep upsetting the plans of other teams, you will lose that support.
Are Wigan any more unpopular than, say, Norwich or Stoke? I doubt it.
Ask most supporters I would say we are more popular than Stoke by a long shot
Did I mention that I am going to Texas !Plenty of windows to clean in Texas is it a working hol ?
May well be but to ask a family of four to fork out close on £200 for a football match is asking to much imo
We have more than 15000 though which they say we have sold and we took 20+ to Cardiff
Lets hope we at least get 20000We also have a whacking unemployment rate as well and many on minimum wage in the Wigan area ,Some maybe edgeing there bets and saving up for the final although would be dearer but a possible trophy at the end of that game
indeed it would eggmon
All games remaining are important for the club it will be imperative that we stay in the greed league for the future of this club .The club is at a crossroads and a chance to move on to the next level
