What exactly does `rugby town` mean?

If it means you have a rugby club that gets approximately 8000 fewer fans than the local football team then yes,Wigan like Huddersfield,Leeds,Northampton,Leicester,Manchester United etc…………Wigan is deffo a rugbee town/city!

Why do you need to supp ale before a football game? FFS stay of the pop and enjoy the game, and I guarantee you wont be nipping off to the bogs every 10 minutes for a piss anarl.

The Shrewsbury Town and Mansfield Town games in 1974,1st and 2nd in Division 4 at the time.

Beating Matlock Town 4-0,their keeper broke his leg,

    Beating York City 2-1,

Beating Sheffield Wednsday managed by `Big` Jack.

Always looked forward to November in the 1970s and the `FA Cup 1st Round Proper`.

Crackin’ thread this – makes for interesting reading!

And this is how we will grow our support, and in fact HAVE grown our support. A factor that most pundits/lazy journos etc fail to see – a lot of us started out not by going to Goole Town in 1825, but by moving away from the boredom of the bigger names that surround us.[/quote]

Im from Orrell,as a nipper I supported Orrell Celtic, but decided to become a Pothunter and support Latics, and my first Latics game WAS against Goole Town! goodpost
