I like chorley and there ground reminds me of springfield park.
Saw som scrotes outside an off y at 12 treating the front of it like some French pavement bar???
The old bill arrived in force afterwards – seemed a bit over the top – a day out in Bamber BRidge – away day sesh!!

What parts of Victory Park remind you of Springfield Park?
The grass terraces ,the closeness to the pitch ,the bar and the old stand .
I think those examples could apply to many non-league grounds. If they remind you of Springfield Park OK, but I think Victory Park is nothing like Springfield. The Oval yes, but not Victory Park.

It remind me of springfield more for the general experience than what it looks like.
attended a game there a few years back when they played Chester and there was a real edge that day that reminded of the old springfield park days although I don’t condone the violent incidents that took place that day.
looks wise then springfield park reminds me of the ground they play that game in the film Escape to Victory starring Silvester Stallone- Google it

The squad isn’t better than the current league position – that is why we have league tables to gauge who the best team is, goals for ,against ,wins ,draws and losses.

Don’t be padantic ;)

OK, I’ll bet you 50p that this squad finishes higher in the league than its current position.
I hope they do finish higher and I think they will if we give our current manager time rather than sack him hence the sarcasm in that post.
sack him and I reckon we can start preparing for visits to Fleetwood given the problems that would create.
people need to get real and stop being fickle- same people who where probably raving about Uwe a few months ago!

he let his team mates and the wigan Warriors supporters down ,dreadful lack of self control and it spoiled the game.
I am always impressed by Liam Farrell and the sportsmanship he displays on the field ,never gets drawn into confrontations and always shows respect to the other team but keeps his self control at all times .

He is a fine role model for youngsters to follow in ANY sport rather than idiots who treat the game as a way of legalising a punch up and he always gives 100%- a future captain without a doubt.

My next game is today, Bamber Bridge v Chorley in the FA Cup, should be a good game with a good atmosphere! £7 if anyone fancies it but be early as this one is expected to sell out!

Saw all the horses and riot vans in the main high street near to where I work
hardly the Milan derby but it takes all sorts !

Totally disagree
Nobody gets relegated in November and things will turn believe me – they have done already
Unbeaten in two games
Too much emphasis has been placed on getting back to the premier league in my opinion and that has fed through to the manager and players which is ridiculous when the club is in a transitional period.
We will not get relegated but sack the present staff and we might be and a change wouldn’t improve anything- we would still have an oversized squad and the new lads like De lort and company would still be settling in.

I get your point, but how long does a transitional period take and do you ever get to the goal of winning games on a regular basis, if you are constantly changing the team, formation etc?.

Apart from a core of about 3 players, the rest don’t know if they are playing from week to week, even if they play well when selected.
If I am performing well in my job, I would be totally miffed if my boss says well done mate, done the business there, but I’m bringing Fred Bloggs in next week in your place, take a break sunshine.

Rosler has had long enough to sort his team and formation out, if you say he still needs time, then what a fekin idiot for playing the likes of Chow, Jennings, Holt even Tavernier in the pre-season friendlies when he had no intention of them featuring in the starting 11.
The mentality of some of the players could be, fek it if I play well I’ll still get dropped, why bother. [yes even on their massive pay packets]. There has been unrest in the dressing room, even Whelan had to go in before the Forrest game and give um a pep talk, jeesh!

IMO, we need to get promoted this season, the team is slowly but surely becoming a distant memory from the one that kept us in the prem for all those years.
I can only see us going down the same route as Leeds, Forrest, Portsmouth etc
OK Whelan balances the books and what a magnificent job he’s done, but it’s no good if the manager doesn’t get the best from his squad, no-one will dispute that he is categorically not getting the best from this squad at the moment.
If we don’t get up this season, the likes of Maloney, Ramis, McLean, McManaman will probably want to move on and so the memories of the premier league will go fainter and fainter.

I for one didn’t want us to get relegated from the prem, some on here hoped we would, i wonder what they are thinking now?.
What’s the point of being the most affluent club and having the best training facilities, in League two.

So IMO he does need to start winning games, the honeymoon period is over, we have the best squad in this division, even other managers recognise that fact, so what is going wrong? Only Uwe and his players can answer that.
I agree his honeymoon period is over however he over acheived in his first few months and set the bar to such high levels that we all expected to be back in the greed league this season given that run he had in January to March this year.
We failed narrowly to acheive that and they keeps banging on about getting back there as quickly as possible which is all well and good if you have a steady plan to get there but he has brought in some young hungry players who will take a bit of time to settle in.
I seem to remember a certain Paul Jewell doing something very similar in the sort out season of 2001-2 .
My view on this season is that he will be given time to sort out the squad and weedle it down a bit in January with his own stamp being seen towards the end of this season and into next.
This should be a season of consolidation in my view adapting to the league we are in and preparing for the days of lower income if they come along because we all still want a club to support in the future.
An interesting few months ahead and a real crossroads for our club but no time to panic just yet.

Win a couple and it will be UWE UWE give us a wave and boos when he fails to do it.
Reckon I’m ready for a rest from all this Bollox !!

Keep hearing this word ‘ tinkering’ however didn’t a certain Mr Jewell do plenty of that in the clubs last major transitional season of 2001-2002 ?
After the season of weeding out the deadwood and trying different things ( transitional periods follow the same pattern at any club) ,which is what our manager seems to be doing each week ,a gradual improvement was seen and we all know what happened in the seasons that followed.
The problem with this season so far is far too much pressure has been applied to get back to the Premier league rather than take each game as it comes and build towards the goal again in a more steady fashion and far too many players were purchased by his predecessor.
seasons like this one have happened before and I’m sure the similarities with PJs reign will mean that the club sticks with Uwe for this season at least until he has cleared out the deadwood in January- ageing players , players not featuring etc.
A management change could damage this club so badly now that I think the effects would be far reaching for years to come and a relegation battle would be a certainty rather than a slow but steady improvement which seems to be the happening at the moment.

I reckon the shame of that may just lift the squad to beat Wolves tomorrow who were beaten by those world beaters Huddersfield on Wednesday night.

Yes he has been playing well however bear in mind the standards Huddesfield are not exactly used to seeing top class football like we have been spoiled with over the past decade.
He didn’t hit the standard required at Latics and ok he has had a couple of decent games over there but no goals which is what a striker is supposed to get isn’t it?
