Poor game, two very poor teams however despite the thicko I thought we looked better organised and I thought we deserved a point at least.
Our goal wasn’t off side either- just need to keep hoping at least the window is nearly open and we can wave by by to some of the deadwood. No sympathy whatsoever with these ‘ part time ‘ supporters they had plenty of time to purchase the ridiculously low priced tickets that were even cheaper than the season ticket per game price.
Total stupidity by these people ,they no doubt wanted to climb back on the dreadful misfiring band wagon after they heard the Leeds result but to roll up at the last minute at a club with few working staff defies belief.
No doubt some of the 5000 that have deserted the club since we were relegated .
hope you all froze your nackers off!!!!if they can get that for him it’s very good business indeed.
there is some you tube footage of him bollocking his Notts county team and it makes your hair stand on end as it is all about the supporters and how the players have let them down.
One of my favourites ,great CV for promotions and seems to undergo a complete personality change when a game kicks off but he gives 100 per cent and doesn’t stand any nonsense.
I like the way he interviews after a game with his big smile and chuckle even though during a game he looks has a face like thunder and he always sails close to the wind during his post match interviews.
He will be back of that there is no doubt.the futures bright then
Some of Mackays comments this week to the press have been very welcome and long overdue.
january is a crucial month for him and the club as if we continue this slide then I cannot see us getting out of it – a win at Leeds is a must .can see an upturn and maybe just maybe it will come at Leeds but he needs to change tactics and clear out the dissenters in the ranks as soon as possible.
Surely it can’t get any worse can it?Jewell inherited a mess similar to the one we have now with an oversized mercenary type bunch who spat in his face metaphorically speaking until he weeded the rubbish out and went on to success we not see again for many years.
the three managers all contributed massively to our recent history however it was Paul Jewell who got us two promotions in three years to take us to the big time where we went on to have 8 seasons and appearances in two big cup finals,Europe and a major trophy to boot.
for that golden period ( 2002- 2006 ) he gets the gong for me although I’m sure some would disagree.greedy n more to be said
And then what?
Another lamb to the slaughter at the hands of these goons who purport themselves to be professional footballers? We will be in league one quicker than an outhouse Rat when a back door is open.
He said one word after yesterday’s game that gave me some hope “CLEAROUT” no more room for any p/ssin about, the situation is very serious.Beyond unacceptable and never in my 35 years following this club have I seen a wigan athletic team put such little effort in. The players are an utter disgrace to themselves and the club and have let us down to the point were their own supporters have turned on them. No guts or backbone and league 1 is inevitable with this pitiful shower !
Small minded mentality thinking that the world revolves their poxy city/town ( not sure what it is) like a large scale version of Ince bar ( no offence to any Incers BTW although I doubt any will read this as they think RL is biggest game in the world round there) although a different shaped ball.
Fair point TL i suppose i am looking at it with rose tinted specs and maybe you were unlucky to drop on a few bullies.
A memory came back to me of the late 70s/ early 80’s – a home game against either Bradford City or Port Vale at home and a group of us being attacked by a pack close to Springfield rd.
I was only 13 or so at the time but we must have been chiding this adult mob so they must have thought stuff it lets go straight into them to teach them a lesson. We where only a pack of kids but a few slaps were dished out despite the gap in ages.
The point i am making is that if you were an inncocent supporter you could more often than not avoid trouble if you kept your head down unless you dropped on some bullying scum like you obviously did.
The fact that this Mercantile credit festival passed over without any bother during a very dark period for British football highlights this fact perfectly.
I can also remember a PNE game at springfield park (mid 90s) when due to our low gates at the time a good few PNE speccies sneaked into our areas and again no bother other than some trouble at the railway station between the like minded.I remember it being a damp squib and a joke with mini 11 a side games that were televised all day .
The then clever souls at the FL dropped the fixture list at the business end of the season so it was hardly going to be popular.
It does seem surprising that their was no trouble but back then hooliganism only seemed to occur between like minded souls and respect was shown to the ordinary supporter who just wanted to watch the football. -
