Dicko will be being readied for the championship push.

Or when Rodallega goes public and says he is leaving, Martinez will say that Dicko was brought in to replace him and he has been getting to grips with the English game blah blah.

Can’t wait for Rodallega to go myself. God what a crap striker. He is another MOTD wonder. Just because Lawrenson say’s he is good everybody believes it. Rodallega is a self proclaimed superstar. He thinks he is good but everyone else knows he is shite. If that is what Colombia rely on they are really scraping the barrel.

I find it funny that Parakeet has morphed from sometimes quite intelligent into newpremboys. Whoever the muli-poster is i think you have forgotten which profile says what.

Griff i think his problem is the opposite. He is trying too hard to be like N’Zogbia. He has the right attributes to be a great winger, Pace, Acceleration and ability to pass a man. Problem with that though is he never passes it when he has done those 3, Just like Charlie. But Charlie could score.

But going to the football isn’t just about going to watch 90 of play is it. It’s about the experience, I always thought it was a day out myself. Going to a local derby or travelling to London to watch Latics was a full day out, Smoking, Drinking in the stands, Walking through the streets singing e.t.c e.t.c. Maybe that was just me.

I am going round in circles. I will leave it there

andyc – I never once said i want us relegated, I suggested that the atmospheres were better. That is you trying to put words in my mouth.

Griff – I also said that i simply want to see transfer money re-invested in the team after we have sold our big stars, Not just replaced will 1m players who are just not up to it.

Deliberately trying to finish 17th every season is not fair on any fan, Especially when teams are coming up and going on to finish better than us.

Would you consider football as entertaining as it was 15 years ago?

Would you say since Sky took over it has improved for the better?

Would you say that the TV money has improved it since all these clubs are now in times of crisis? I can only really think of Maidstone United bar pre-Premiership era that actually went bust. The Premiership is just like Maggie Thatcher, It makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Would you say that Atmospheres at grounds is better now than 10+ years ago?

Or indeed would you consider a Premiership atmosphere better than a Championship, League 1 or 2 atmosphere?

    Diving
    Play acting
    All seater stadiums
    Biased officials
    Foreign Billionaires
Ridiculous cup draws(groupings and seedings blah blah)
Champions League(Not really though is it, it’s the European Cup)where 4 teams from the top countries get in. Bit of a stupid name.
Stadium names changing just for revenue.
The talk of a football Super League
Trying to Get Rangers and Celtic into the English divisions.
    No smoking in stadiums
    No drinking in seated areas.
Sky high wages and with it sky high ego’s
    Players refusing to play
Players deciding when they will leave a certain club although under contract
    Stupid WAG’s dominating the tabloids

Eliminate all those and bob on

Can’t be bothered thinking of any more but in my opinion football in this country has gone. The premiership is just now a money spinning joke. It’s not a sport any more.

thty you are talking 20 years ago, And considering i am 26 and the only football i saw was on tv you may have some idea. I never even knew Wigan had a football team then.

in reply to: Ask Roberto a question #74433

Yeah since you ask. I am looking forward to Saturday’s final. Should be a bruiser. But it will provide something that Latic’s couldn’t in a season of Saturdays, EXCITEMENT AND VALUE FOR MONEY. And no im not going, Nor do i prefer Rugby over football. I love all kinds of sports but football is on it’s deathbed. Power Snooker starts this week too. Bang on

in reply to: Ask Roberto a question #74429

It’s gone from Season Ticket holder, then to Watching every game on the telly and still caring to now just watching a game until we go 1-0 down and putting someone else on.

when & why did you start watching Wigan in the first place?
which have been your favourite times (years/seasons)?

I will go again when i see the team being invested in.

Seriously, how much monetary investment by Whelan or ANO would it take to get you back watching matches?

And im afraid that when we go down we will go again.

it is interesting that you still refer to the club/team as ‘we’ (not a question)

… Soak up the profits and run.

do you think that Whelan has made a profit out of his involvement with the club and if so approximately how much?

He is not interested and he says he would sell the club for £50, If that is the case why doesn’t he just hand it over to one of the other board members,

which of the other board members (or in fact who in general) do you think would have sufficient funds(*see question above) to make a meaningful investment in the club (and get you back watching matches)?[/quote]

    1. Started going in 1993 when i was allowed to go but followed them since before then. Granted not all that much before. About 1991 Because like every kid i followed man utd before that.

    2. Not so much an investment as in pumping millions and millions in, Just enough to replace the superstars we have lost. Not 1m second rate players.

3.I am adamant he has made profits. Of course he has. He always does. One thing he is good at is making money. I don’t read or buy into that we are so skint after so long in the biggest revenue earner in the world.

4.I don’t have an insight into the board members bank details but they must have some knowledge and some wealth. Keep 2/3 of the tv revenue money for themselves. Give 1/3 to the manager and let him keep any transfer fee received to be able to keep us going in the same direction we were headed before all of our best players were sold.

I just don’t take the whole club seriously any more. I think in the last 3 seasons i have become the least interested fan of Wigan Athletic. I think i have gone past the point of being bothered now.

It’s gone from Season Ticket holder, then to Watching every game on the telly and still caring to now just watching a game until we go 1-0 down and putting someone else on.

I will go again when i see the team being invested in. Not just to swallow up peoples money for a relegation battle. Who want’s to pay £250 to watch crap football, your team score about 7 at home all season and to win just 2 or 3 games. No sir not me

I think i am saying. Who wants to pay to see that when it can be avoided. Whelan promised the European push and untold funds. He knows what he has to do to get the fans back. He needs to back up some of his promises. Saying he wanted Europe was just to get the fans excited. But now it’s all about just finishing 17th every season. It’s boring. And im afraid that when we go down we will go again. It wont matter to Whelan of course because once we are relegated and he has received his parachute payments(or at least the first one) and the transfer fees of some of our better players he will be off. Like every other company he has ever been involved with, Soak up the profits and run. No doubt he will say that the club can keep the parachute payments for the 2013-2015 seasons so the town thinks he is a martyr again. He is not interested and he says he would sell the club for £50, If that is the case why doesn’t he just hand it over to one of the other board members, A younger member who has learned from him. It’s obvious why. He will only walk away after relegation is achieved.
