There you go, made me waste my time….
    Average attendances for the year

    2007/2008
    SoL 43,344
    JJB 19,046

    2008/2009
    SoL 40,168
    JJB 18,350

    2009/2010 so far
    SoL 39,911
    DW 18,304

3433 down (not quite 5,000 I know, I should have researched first.) That’s 8% down, compared to our 4% in the same period.

PS, not quite so much of a whatever it was you called me?
Not quite as good a shout either Arky. I don’t remember the away crowd being a few thousand in 2007/8, in 05/6 maybe

I can’t believe everyone is saying sack Bobby!!!!

What because we lost last night, so what we need to be concentrating on the league. I agree sometimes his tactics confuse me and the 4-5-1 everyone keeps slating is meant to be adaptable to a 4-3-3 with the 2 wide men tracking back into midfield to assist. There only tactically issue I think Bobby is struggling with is a plan B so when the formation isn’t working we need to change. The guy is still learning and said him self he would need 3 transfer windows to build the team he wants and change the way we play. I said at the start of the season I hope we give Bobby a chance and don’t sack him when the going gets tough, I do believe we will stay up this season. This season should be about staying in the league, letting Bobby put is own stamp on the club, build a team he wants and let him learn about managing in the Premier league.

They are too many Wigan fans think we are a bigger club than we are and when it gets tough start wanting the manager sacked or Whelan out. We should all rally together and support the club we love, lets build something. Sir Alex didn’t have the greatest start to top flight English football because he needed a year to put his own stamp on things.

Before everyone jumps down my throat, I am one of the fans who believes Scotland as struggled to adapt to the Prem and we have given him enough chances, its not like he as been on the bench all the time. However I have seen latics training, when they were at the Soccerdome during the snow and he is one of the better players, very technical and scores for fun. I do hope he starts scoring in the Prem because I like the bloke but at then end of the day is job is to score goals.

in reply to: Sunderland bid £5m for Kirkland? #17838

I would snap there hands off too.. As much as I like Kirky and he as done really well for us, I would sell for £5m we can buy just as good for much less even loan someone like Ben Foster till end of season.

Since his little affairs have come to light, several of Tiger Woods’ sponsors have dropped him.

However, Pfizer has decided to sponsor him.

They are making a new drug called Tiagra. It’s good for 18 holes.

in reply to: The game today #10824

I think Scotland is excellent and is work rate is second to none, I am not sure about MOM yesterday because I thought there were a couple of better players but he was really good. He as only played a couple of Prem matches from the start and people already on his back, give the bloke a chance and he will score, plus the games he as played are against Chelsea & Man City who anyone would struggle to score. We have a new team, new management so give us time to gel and settle in, you can see we are improving all the time..

Now I believe on our day we can beat any team in the Prem, were I used to think we’d never beat a top team..

I thought it was the wrong decision to take Schnarer off but if he was injured makes sense, but should of brought Sinclair on for me and gone 4,4,2 with Hugo up top. The formation was spot on with to start but when City went down to ten men we should of being pushing for the winner but I thought we just kept the ball (very well) but didn’t create enough clear chances..

Saying that before the game I would of been made up with a point..

    in reply to: Mario #10260

I think Mario is class and got experience at the highest level, plus still fairly quick for someone of his age. I do agree that he made a mistake for Hull’s 2nd goal on Sat by not tracking Geovanni but probably didn’t think Boyce would give it away so easy. I do think next summer we should be looking for a replacement for the future of the club.

I for one am disappointed we have not brought a couple of additional players in and we have not sure much ambition this time around, but all this talk about get rid of Whelan is a load of sh*t. You think that these multimillion owners at other clubs give away their own hard earned cash… NO!! They take loans out against the clubs assets and most these clubs have more assets and turnover than we do (because a lot of our fans would rather watch in the pub) Whelan is not going to get the club into debt now is he? I do however think we should of spent a little of the money we have made from transfers
