    Now then

    Doesnt track back

    No Pace

    Cant beat a man

Whats gone wrong with Callum ??

I think you’ll find that it was Mclean not tracking back that cost us tonight mate !!!

Callum tried his best and got chopped off at the knees every time.

Well if we don’t sign a striker we’ll be lagging behind and our chances will be goosed !!

in reply to: Kentucky rovers #123202

Would he gobble up the chances though?

As not many on here appear to know too much about football (apart from bigroy) here is a simple task for you guys

When Callum has the ball he is confronted by two opposition players – this is due to Callums oppo tracking back and helping out the full back

When our opposition have the ball on the right flank Perch (as in yesterday) or whoever is playing left back has to contend with two opponents coming at him as Callum doesnt track back

However – notice the difference when McClean came on

And to compare him with Ronaldo  just proves my point and with that I rest my case

Obviously we will all have to line up and bow down to your tactical genius. ;)

Mind you as my daughter has scored 56 points to my 40 on this weeks Fantasy Footie you could have a a point !!

I wasn’t comparing him to Ronaldo – I’m not that daft.Ronaldo is the best example of a winger who never tracks back.

Let’s see how Callum performs when he’s played in his correct position rather than totally over reacting and dismissing him as crap as he’s had a few bad games in a wrong position. :)

This playing players out of position lark how mant where complaining when the Zog was played out of position under the previous manager and a perfect example today was that Callum cut in from the left and hit a beauty which there goalie did a good save from

I wouldn’t have a problem with that if we actually had a a right footer on the right.

The current tactics mean that our play is narrow because both “wingers” have to come inside to be effective. If the fullbacks could get ahead of them it may improve you could argue. However we have another right footer at left back and Boycey doesn’t really have the pace now.

Everything is therefore through the middle and we will struggle to score from open play I think. It’s been said before that Holt can’t really do the holding job and as for Fortune….. I thought I was watching Heskey yesterday afternoon cos every time he got the ball he fell over.We definately need another striker come January.

Powell looks class and Gomez and Watson played well. The performance dipped I thought after Gomez went off.

It will be interesting to see who plays on Thursday as Sundays game at Yeovil is more important and as I’ll be at the Yeovil game I’d like to witness us getting 3 points please !!!

    Onwards and upwards !!! B)

Swimpool – have you ever watched a live game for 90 min and I dont mean MOTD

Callum I am afraid is not up to it

    Get shut in Jan

If you are reading this Callum – nothing personal but can you put a bit more
    effort in – many thanks

He’s being played out of position – a right winger being played on the left hand side so he’s going to struggle to beat his full back on the outside.

As for tracking back, ever seen Cristiano Ronaldo play??? I don’t think he’s ever tracked back in his life !!! And you can’t accuse Callum of shying away from a tackle now can you? ;)

Callum is the only player we’ve got who can beat a man it appears. McLean couldn’t beat an egg and Albrighton is clearly rusty and lacking a decent first touch.

Is there a new darkside & lightside forming.

I just think the manager’s on the Shiteside !!! :P

    in reply to: Today…….. #123091

They aren’t wing backs cos Boyce and Perch are playing full back. They are wide midfield players in a 5 or wingers in a 3 with Powell in the hole behind.

Depends on how you view it but wing backs they ain’t.

However in this particular formation Jordi and Callum are wasted. :(

I can understand Coyle wanting to sort out the defence first. He had to find new defenders and build them into a unit. He’s made progress with that, although at the beginning injuries made the task more difficult. Two defensive midfield players in the team have helped.

Yeah but he changes the defence every game. There is no stability and playing Perch at left back all the time limits his creativity.

Last night we had 2 right footers on the left and a left footer who prefers playing centrally on the right.

There was no way in hell we were going to get crosses in the box. Plus even if we did Holt wouldn’t get his head on them as he can’t jump – he’d need a fork lift truck to get airborne.Second half was no better after the change.

Coyle seems clueless basically or he’s doing his level best to convince us he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

What position did Mcarthur play at Wembley.?
I was drunk and can’t remember.

What do you think of the badger cull?

    All nets must be dipped.

    Right wing back !!!

People forget his hat trick against Reading and the brilliant side footer at Goodison.

However he is so one paced at times and hardly seems to break sweat plus his lack of a tackle and the occasional poor pass winds people up.

A lot of our crowd still expect everyone to charge round at 100 mph kicking the opposition up in the air.

I do feel sorry for him at times.I did last night cos he was out of position.Coyle seems to like playing them out of position.

Watson needs dead ball practice some of his efforts are awful and Holt needs a fork lift to get off the ground to be honest. They deserve as much stick as Senor Gomez at times.

Anyway fingers crossed we can actually score on Sunday and next Wednesday will be the real benchmark of where we are at present !!!

    Onwards and upwards !! :)
