Was it really that bad? Jeez.
Probably not in hindsight cos we came out of it with a point.
However you can’t help but feel they were there for the taking.
There was just an all round lack of urgency considering what’s at stake.
I thought McCarthy’s passing was worse than Gomez’s particularly in the first half.
We need both Jimmy Macs in the centre of midfield. Gomez,Di Santo and McManaman are competing for one place upfront really.
Anyway let’s now look forward to next Saturday now. :)
And to round things off nicely I was so engrossed in the match I forgot to put the roast spuds in the oven !!!! :angry:

I leapt up shouting, my arm getting tugged to sit down by my girlfriend coz I was “embarrassing”, bit of grunting & growning as Scharner & Roberts seemed to get the ball stuck under their feet & finally knocking & numerous stools over, screaming as it hit the back of the net. Closely followed by my mate coming legging it from the direction of the bogs, tryna do up his zip & with a fresh pish stain on his keks.I watched it at home.
When the goal went in I ran across the living room jumped up and put my fist through the 3 ceiling spot lights !! :ohmy:
The neighbours across the road heard the cheers as well!! :)

First or second season in the League.I remember going to see the 1-1 draw with Blackpool who were in Div 3 at Bloomfield Road.
We beat them 2-0 I think in the replay the following Wednesday. We had to queue for about half an hour to get on Springfield Park as well.It was a huge crowd.
Maurice Whittles free kick to beat Sheff Weds 1-0 and then I went to Birmingham who beat us 4-0 in the next round.Francis and Bertshin scored 2 each.I was a student in Bristol at the time and I was staying with my mate who was from Brum and was a Blues fan!! :blush:

The media like to build the England team up, as though they should be competing with the Brazil’s and Germany’s, when in fact they just aren’t very good, they only build them up in order to knock them when they fail, they get a story either way.Anyone ever watch Hold The Back Page on Sunday morning?
Most of them are so far up there own arses it’s unbelievable.Lets be honest if they are the tactical geniuses they think they are why aren’t they managing a team somewhere?
They are no more qualified than you or me to give a valid opinion on anything they just happen to have a degree,like football and secured a a job on a Newspaper.
Despite the constant press build up Rooney is not World Class we haven’t had a truly world class player for years. I’m struggling to think of one to be honest.
We have lots of good pros who with good organisation can occasionally gel together and perform well in a tournement. The teams of 1990 an 1996 for example.
How many of our players have been successful when moving abroad? How many have actually been chased by clubs from abroad – not many.That tells you a lot really.
Loads of hardworking pro’s but when compared with most continental players technically not good enough.
The influx of foreigners (Players and Managers) is now starting to affect the England Team as well.You would have to be delusional to think we even have the remotest chance of ever winning a World Cup. Half the players don’t get a regular game for their clubs.Look at the centre half situation that’s a worry for a start.
Who will play in the centre of midfield in a few years time.Wilshire is very injury prone and although he played for us,do you think Cleverley would be any where near the England side if he wasn’t at Utd?
However if we do actually make it to Brazil the press will be building the team up again,only to stick the boot it when we fail.
Why can’t they be honest before the tournement starts. Get behind the team yes, but admit in reality we haven’t got a cat in hells chance of winning it, so no need to crucify the team and manager when we get knocked out.
Then if we actually cause a surprise they can really go over the top and tell everyone how world class we really are !! :)
