I couldn’t agree more NP

They are both exciting signings and I can’t wait to see them in action. Hats off to Roberto and Dave Whelan; whilst other clubs in our position are panicking and signing journeymen with limited skills, we are signalling our intention to play our way out of trouble.

I know youtube can be misleading at times but if Moreno is a quarter as good as he looks then he will do for me. He’s not exactly Kevin Davies is he? :o

I suspect owd git is a multi :?:

If you are referring to brain cells then I plead guilty as charged.

I am sorry if I have offended the sensibilities of your good-self and Philip, please let me explain:

Wigan Athletic is my club and I have learned over the years that supporters from other clubs will make ill-informed and malicious attacks upon it. I find most of them quite amusing as they are generally born out of a sense of jealousy that “little Wigan” is up there amongst the “big boys” where they feel they belong.

What does make me rather annoyed though is “the enemy within” who claim to be supporters of our club but don’t appear to do anything but make pathetic jibes and criticise it. The pathetic display by Fil (to call him by his proper name) at the Everton match really sums you lot up. He stood up with outstretched arms and turning to everyone within earshot said “I rest my case” when Jason Scotland missed a chance. He was revelling in the fact that Jason Scotland had missed just so that he would be proved right and could persist in his pathetic serial rants. If he thought he looked big and clever then he should think again because everyone, apart from his disciples, thought he looked a right pratt.

When Jason Scotland missed, I was nearly as disappointed as he himself was. I was disappointed for him, for Dave Whelan, Roberto Martinez, and for all our supporters. Jason Scotland, just like Emile Heskey and numerous others before him, has divided opinion amongst supporters and everyone is entitled to their view but Jason Scotland is part of my club and I will defend my club to the hilt. I shouldn’t have to defend it against its own so-called supporters.

PS As previously stated, things went downhill on Saturday when Jason Scotland was substituted.

PPS Have you any Newcastle blood in your veins?

No I didnt shout that !! I just sat there shaking my head when he hit row Z when through on goal I then stood up looking round and shouted ” I rest my case ” ! In fact I did that twice !!

So that is you!!

Do you realise what a complete and utter pratt you looked

I was the one who shouted “sit down you p***ock”
I wear a badge with my profile avatar on ! I openly have said in the past that I drink in Pagfield before game but have just started cramming into the Brick ! I have fcuk all to hide, give us a shout at Stoke game and I will pose for your photo !
Why on earth would I seek out your company? Ninety minutes at a football match is more than enough.

I just hope that, on his debut, he scores a hat trick of wonder-goals and then presents his framed shirt to Fil. He should then travel to the LMB residence and present our forum hero with his boots after having them gold plated.

Maybe then he will have their seal of approval, which in turn will guarantee he is accepted by the rest of us with inferior football knowledge.

PS I feel really good about this signing but will only believe it when Monday has been and gone.

Roberto made a mistake taking him off.

It was from that point, about 75 minutes was it?, that Everton upped it a gear, as they had less to keep them occupied. In no way, is Rodallega capable of the ‘lone front man’ role.

No need to make the changes when he did. I think ultimately, it cost us.

Very occasionally Dave, you get it absolutely spot on. I said it was a mistake as Scotland was going off and my worst fears materialised. I’m not one to knock Roberto but he got the substitution completely wrong yesterday. It was obvious what Moyes was doing but it drew the wrong response from him.

Prior to going off, I thought Scotland was having a fantastic game (yes – I know he missed a couple of chances again !) whilst Hugo couldn’t trap a bag of cement for some reason.

Got to confess – I used to be but it’s short on atmosphere. Only downside is young Philip and his ilk are too close. I bet the guy behind me is LMB

PS No need to profile Philip, I could take his picture for anyone interested.

Ha Ha!!!

So many of you have NOT got a clue about me.

It’s so funny. Ha Ha!!!!!

I think you’ll find that everyone has your number by now Dave. You are the athlete’s foot of this forum – an annoying itch that keeps returning. You are that stupid that you are impossible to insult.

The only people on this site I really don’t mind, and have a bit of respect for, are, in no particular order….

Griff
Garswood_Latic
Standish
Faz- (When he’s on)
JayT
Landgateblue (most of the time)
Jrfatfan
Scoffy

(Might be one or two others, as well)

With them, IT’S BANTER, but with most other posters, it’s nonsense.

The above named, also hold some stance when it comes to knowledge and a ‘sense’ approach. I think between us, we have all come to know and understand about how the club is being run, and how fortunate we are, really. For a club our size, which is still playing above it’s means, in a lot of respect, we are in a good financial position. Also, we have a manager who genuinely has a love and respect for his club.

Things are fantastic, actually.

I am SO PROUD To be a Wigan Athletic fan.

I am EXCITED about what this week might bring. (Signings)

I am LOOKING FORWARD to Everton at home, on Saturday.

Thank God I’m not on your list Dave – I would die of embarrassment, which is just what you should do. You make Walter Mitty look like George Washington.

You will hate me for pointing this out but you are a dead ringer for Arky in his younger days with that hat on!

I noticed this in our first ever season, I mean the change in the people who were following us.

I was in the queue for tickets for Liverpool away (when it was still a novelty). I was talking to the guy next to me and said “last time I went to Anfield, I went on a spair ticket my mate (A LFC fan) had, and they were playing Olympiakos in that game where Gerrard scored the screamer”. I added “The atmosphere was fantastic, to a man they were singing ‘Fields Of Anfield Road’, and ‘We Won It 5 Times’…”

My mistake. They COULDN’T have been singing ‘5 times’ as they hadn’t won it (Istanbul) at that point. But I was stunned at the reaction.

Two Latics ‘fans’ in front of me swung around and jumped on me. Not literally, but figuratively. “No they didn’t….coz they hadn’t won it then…blah blah blah…” I was speechless. I wasn’t even talking to them. They got such an apparent kick out of scoring points, it was unbelievable. Sad thing is both of them were in their 40’s and I’d never seen them at latics. (and in the old days, you used to see people, and recognise them)

I realised at that point, that our club had been invaded by tossers, and that the friendly, close knit community of our club, was no more.

LOVE Wigan Athletic, DETEST half of our support.

Oh the irony !!

You really can’t see what a “Billy Big two veg” you are can you?(whatever that is).

Our supporters reflect a fair cross-section of our community and all are very welcome. We can’t all be old enough to wax lyrical about the sublime ability of Harry Lyon in 1902. I read somewhere that we have the highest percentage of young supporters in the Premier League – absolutely brilliant, couldn’t care less if they were all called Billy.

I live in Australia. Believe me when I say “that” result in London didn’t go un-noticed by both my Australian and ex-pat mates.

No hiding place on that one I’m afraid !

It just so happens I was in Perth at the time – beautiful place. Any chance I could adopt you to get my citizenship?

PS Have you any connections at the Royal Perth Yacht Club for next time I’m there?

looks like we are at cross purposes Micky so I extend my apologies.

You read more into one of my previous posts than was actually there ………………. just suppose that I wasn’t suggesting that you rode a powerful motorcycle. It may just be that the post meant exactly what it said viz that I ride a powerful motorcycle (or maybe two!). I was just trying to help with the profiling (sorry) – I am regarded as a very unusual owd git by people who know me. 8-) .

Anyway – apologies for any misunderstandings, perhaps we should use more smilies. 8-)

in reply to: FAO Griff. #18463

For a man who has never lost an argument/debate in the whole of his human life, is doing well at losing debates/arguments with me every time he gets in them, and then after trying to one over me and failing and I prove him wrong he hides his head then comes out with, ‘I’ve never lost an argument in my life’ , To which I know is false as he loses them a lot to me, though I would let you all know this and Griff, Why will you no longer respond to me, is it solely because I contantly beat you in arguments and you feel bad about it or just because you dont want others to know?

James, the full stop looks like this . and can be found on the next key to the comma. The full stop is used at the end of sentences and is not to be confused with commas.

However, I suspect that you are not as ignorant as you make out and that it is a pathetic attempt to prevent people profiling you correctly. ;)

Oh Mr Owd you are a card…………..now we wouldn’t want your drinking pals thinking you’re suffering from a touch of the OCD.

Always remember “Visor Down” chap…… ;)
Just googled OCD ……………… bloody hell !

It always flushes you out when I use the word “profile” doesn’t it?

I’ve narrowed you down to a psychologist who moonlights as a nightclub bouncer up to now. ;)

What makes you think that I have pals? OCD is not the most endearing of ailments as you may well know.
