If Caldwell had a bit of pace he’d be alright, but he hasn’t so we’ll just have to make do until Piscu gets up to speed. Having said that, he is British and does play with a bit of passion which I like.
I think we have the players to make a 3-5-2 formation work, we just need that creative spark. What we need is a little Deco or someone similar to play in, wait for it……………THE HOLE!
But whether we can get a little midfield genius in during this transfer window remains to be seen. Although we are watching 3,432,765 players across the globe so surely one of them will fit the bill? :?
With regard to pace and the back three I’d be inclined to see how much toe Piscu has before worrying about long balls over the top. He’s young so he may have a bit of pace.
We got caught out by Newcastle on Sunday because we were chasing the game.
Regardless of what formation we play we will always be struggling without a genuine playmaker who can run the midfield. If we get him I think he could be the missing key to unlock the door……..
Money talks
The ball he put through to Rodallega, which he ultimately handballed, was distinctly Beckham-like.
I think he will get his chance eventually as there are a few midfielders who are going to be past their sell by dates in the next year or two.
Oi keep your beak out. He’ll ruffle a few centre forwards’ feathers when he plays
We can play Ali if we get him signed up before next Wednesday
Oh the sitting and staring at the Teletext page – remember it well! I used to do that even when the internet was invented for midweek games I couldn’t get to. What a sad individual I am.
In fact last night I had Five Live on in the kitchen and Sky Sports News on in the living room and was stood between the two rooms!
If you take out the first two games of the season, our goal difference would also be respectable
He does look like a bit of a diver though :?
I think it definitely sparked a reaction. With N’Zogbia missing the next three games it will give us a little insight into how the team will play when he inevitably leaves.
I’m sure the players can step up to the plate on Sunday. Wish Moses was fit though :(
I can see us beating Newcastle on Sunday even without N’Zogbia. This upturn in form and team spirit couldn’t have come at a better time.
It may be a coincidence but it appears to have come at the same time as the return of our captain. I’m not Caldwell’s biggest fan but he played okay last night and his never-say-die attitude when it comes to throwing himself at balls is just what we need.
You’re joking aren’t you? He’d be flippin great!
He’s a shadowy figure who has allegedly been seen down at Latics’ training ground for the last few months
