That’s the sort of welcome that some of our so-called supporters give to our own players.
There are 3 regular posters on here that jump in if anybody has a go at Bobby and / or Everton. There are several regular posters on here who respond to the small group of people prejudiced against Bobby whenever they launch yet another ridiculous attack on him or his new club.
My neighbour in the West Stand said to me, “If Roberto came back to the DW Stadium, I don’t think there’s a single fan who wouldn’t give him a good welcome.” He wasn’t absolutely right but I do think that he was right about the great majority of fans.
There are planned engineering works on the main West Coast line, so on Saturday the 12th Virgin will be running a bus service from Stafford to Warrington Bank Quay.
Perhaps it will be possible to travel there direct via Manchester Piccadilly.
I’m not sure about getting home by train on Saturday or Sunday.
Last year we sold about 20,000 of our 31,000 allocation. That’s not a bad turnout for the time and place.
Millwall sold all their tickets – their fans could get there by Tube and be home in time for tea.
A great shame – he’s settled in very well.
But surely McArthur can play there in the cup, and perhaps McEachran too. Tunnicliffe can share in the rotation in the Championship games.
As for central defenders, we’ve got Rogne and Holgersson, and Caldwell on the mend.
Curious – the price is higher for the Hull-Sheffield United game.
Last year, Wigan allowed us three tickets for every season ticket. The same again would be handy.
I’m very lucky, we can stay with my son in Balham. And Southern run direct trains from there through the outskirts of London to Wembley Central.
It’s the London Marathon on Sunday, so we should have another great weekend in London.
That’s hardly a surprise.
There isn’t a single mention of FA Cup Champions on the first page.
City had 69% of the possession, so we clearly didn’t dominate midfield. But when he got the ball, Gomez was thoughtful and looked for chances to go forward.
Rosler had done his homework before the game. His plan relied on everybody challenging when we didn’t have possession, and Gomez played his part.
Wigan restricted City to just three shots on target, and managed three themselves. So the result was hardly a fluke.
Rosler has found a role for Gomez which he obviously enjoys. I’m sure Rosler will continue his rotation, but I expect Gomez to contribute as much as anyone.
Thank you! So I am not a wind up poster after all.
My other half, of course, may well be.
Thank you.
And it’s easy to get home – if you live in North London, that is.
Oh dear.
That leaves me as the wind up poster and multi.
He mentioned him in passing when he talked of playing football on the ground but that in no way implicates that Martinez deserves any credit for our win on Sunday !You are a tedious and antagonising poster at the best of times but your latest statement is beyond belief !
Tomorrow – why white is the new black.
Incredible!
If you don’t believe me, perhaps you’ll believe Uwe himself.
Uwe Rosler: Martinez tactics helped Wigan beat Man City
By Chris Bevan BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium
Wigan manager Uwe Rosler says his tactics in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Manchester City were inspired by former Latics boss Roberto Martinez.
One of us is obviously a wind up poster, maybe even a multi!
I wonder which one.
