Interesting term of phrase on the second line of the first paragraph.

    Vital Latic Report

Interesting? Really? We already know that there is a group of Wigan fans who have decided to call Wigan FA Cup Champions.

This just takes us back to ES2, where all this nonsense started.

Surely the FA Cup is the prize awarded to the winners of the challenge competition. FA Cup Champions – what can it mean?

I hope we’re not going to accept all the views of ES2 as correct. We don’t usually.

The clubs who finish in fifth and sixth place will qualify for the Europa League.

And, at the moment, Everton are in sixth place.

    Can Roberto qualify again?

Glad to see that some of our players realise what the word TEAM means.

There isn’t an ‘I’ in TEAM – but you will find an ‘M’ and an ‘E’.

I’ll be happy with all three.

But I would settle for a last minute winner in the Cup Final against Everton!

    Lovely story, CPJ.

Madness? But football is a mad world!

Statsbomb; Mistakes like this at Everton’s level are likely to yield a plunge in performance that takes years to dig out of, especially since the clubs around them (Liverpool, Swansea, Aston Villa, Southampton) suddenly seem really smart.

Liverpool are in a different financial league to the rest. They are willing to pay Suarez £200,000 per week. Even so, they have been out of the top four for four years.

Swansea won the League Cup, came through the Europa League and sacked their manager.

Aston Villa have flirted with relegation for two seasons. In January 2011, they paid £18 million, potentially rising to £24 million, to Sunderland for Darren Bent. He is now on loan to Fulham.

Southampton are one of the biggest spenders in European football. Their Swiss owner, Markus Liebherr, died leaving his daughter Katharina as owner. Chairman Nicola Cortese disapproved of her desire to sell the club and has now walked out.

Everton look a model of conservative management in comparison.

I wonder if he’ll be back in time to play at Wembley.

    in reply to: Espinoza #128051

    They usually play football.

But Espinoza wasn’t picked for the squad.

He went to see Stoke rather than attend a tattoo parlour.

“Everton manager Roberto Martinez is set to offer experienced on-loan midfielder Gareth Barry a £50k per week deal in order to land the England midfielder on a permanent deal at the end of the season when he is a free agent.

“Barry would earn a staggering £8m over the course of the contract according to the Mirror and the deal would take Barry through to the ripe old age of 36. Barry’s current £120k per week deal with Manchester City ends in the summer.”

    How did they line up, please? I’m guessing something like this;

    Al-Habsi
    Perch Boyce Barnett Beausejour
    McCann
    Waghorn McArthur Gómez McClean
    Maynard

Or did they play three at the back?

Fulham are ready for their next change of manager.

Roach Bridge Tissues continue at the mill as a specialist printer of tissue paper. They generate their own hydro electricity there.
