I do think that in his 2nd season in charge he should have them in a better league position then they are right now! Many Everton fans, deluded or not will see it as a backwards step and why wouldn’t they! ;)
Things don’t always go according to plan. It’s the same here, well, worse really.
Rosler took us to an FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal and a play-off semi-final against QPR.
We hoped for more this season.
If Everton fans see this season as a backwards step, how should we feel?
His new chairman, Bill Kenwright, with whom the 39-year-old has signed a four-year contract, revealed that the first words Martinez said to him when he was interviewed to succeed Moyes as Everton manager were: “I will get you into the Champions League.”
Like the rest of us, you happily dismissed most of Roberto’s pronouncements as managerial bluster, but you have chosen to take this one literally. Even Bill Kenwright wasn’t foolish enough to do that! But he did find Roberto’s attitude refreshing after ten years of dealing with the unsmiling David Moyes.
But you are right about the illusions of the Everton fans. They see themselves as supporters of one of the great English football teams, and consider that Everton are automatically entitled to a place at the top of the league. They are as misguided – and as disappointed – as the Wigan fans who think Wigan are entitled to a place in the Premier League.
We are, I fear, going to Barnsley.
If they get beat against QPR there will be some ramifications! :)QPR 1 Everton 2
So Bobby lives to fight another day. And Everton are now only twelve points clear of the bottom three. In fact, they are in great danger of finishing in the top half of the table!
To be fair, Toffeeweb doesn’t host the brightest Everton fans. In fact, some of them show our own members in a good light.
Meanwhile, it’s a big week for the post-Roberto, post-Coyle, post-Rosler, post-Mackay Wigan;
Tuesday – Millwall v Wigan
Wednesday – Fulham v RotherhamCaldwell has seen a good variety of managerial styles recently. I wonder which manager he has learned most from.
They think we’re going to Barnsley!
And Burton, Shrewsbury and Wycombe too.
Their fans who made these posts are just as knowledgeable as our own shining lights.
Who was it who looked forward to relegation because he would see us winning our home games once more?
Wigan didn’t have the resources to compete at the bottom of the league and in the FA Cup. Everton haven’t got the resources to compete at the top of the league and in the Europa League.
Roberto has raised the expectations of the Everton fans. Let’s see how he gets on next season.
I shall look forward to it. Will it be published on paper or online?
I’m sure you’ll let us know nearer the time.
Yes, and if my aunt was a man, then she’d be my uncle!
Gary Lineker; Not a great week for the Premier League. Thank heavens for Everton.
A brief respite for embattled Bob.
Young Boys 1 Everton 4
Everton 3 Young Boys 1Have you still got the urge for travel?
Everton v Dynamo Kiev 12 March
Dynamo Kiev v Everton 19 MarchI could if needed get old posts up where some of you calling these lads were singing their praises and saying that we needed them!

Look up the words ‘Could’ and ‘If’! :)[/quote]
So even you accept that you could be a sad bastard!
I’m not going to argue.
I’ve no criticism of you making the bet, Phil.
My concern is that, the way things are going, you are very likely to be on to a winner.
And how will the team line up now?
Ipswich – away
Bournemouth – home
Forest – awayThis is no time to be trying to rebuild a team. It’s all very worrying.

WGTB, I’ve finally rumbled you !
You are really Donny’s Page !
You’d better come clean at the Bournemouth match !I don’t know which of us will be more embarrassed.
And, like Phil’s bookmaker, I’m really not looking forward to the Bournemouth match.
My apologies, Phil.
Perhaps it was the manner of his leaving that upset you.
“Thanks RM for finally capitulating and taking us down and then fucking off with loads of the club’s staff and the best best player from each key position ie Keeper, Defender, Midfielder and Attacker !”
“I believe in passing and moving the ball. We’re widening the pitch by a few yards because we want to pass and move the ball,” Coyle said.
Striker Will Bruin said, “He’s telling each player, ‘Go be yourself, express yourself on the field’. He’s not worried about guys making mistakes. He says, ‘Go show me what you can do as opposed to what you can’t do; don’t be afraid to mess something up.”
A great philosophy. What could possibly go wrong?
It’s not all sunshine; Houston has 50 inches of rain per year. There are supercell thunderstorms which bring tornadoes to the area, most commonly during spring, and tropical cyclones during the Atlantic hurricane season, which bring heavy rain and significant damage to the city.
And be careful, Owen. The sixth-most dangerous neighbourhood in America is Sunnyside, located off Texas 288 south of downtown Houston. The violent crime rate (per 1,000) is reported as 91.27, and residents have a 1 in 11 chance of becoming a victim of crime in one year.
At No. 15 in the U.S. is a Houston neighbourhood that includes stately mansions, the University of Houston and Texas Southern University. The violent crime rate (per 1,000) is reported as 75.89, and residents have a 1 in 13 chance of becoming a victim of crime in one year.
In contrast, peaceful Wigan has just 9 violent and sexual offences per 1,000 per annum.
