    Misrepresentation is indeed shocking.

So perhaps you’ll stop doing it.

We’re like a broken up jigsaw without the picture.

Very good! Martinez certainly had a very clear vision of what he wanted.

Coyle has shown very little ability to reassemble the remaining pieces to reveal a vision of his own. I’m disappointed and surprised, because he produced successful teams in his time at Burnley and Bolton.

He had probably taken Burnley as far as they could go when he left. At Bolton, he introduced attractive, attacking play in place of the dour style of Megson. But the 5-0 semi-final defeat by Stoke was the turning point.

In his relegation season, he failed (or was unable) to replace his two forwards – Sturridge and Elmander. And he started the season without Holden, Lee and Mears, all suffering from long term injuries. The sale of Cahill and the tragic loss of Muamba then proved too much for the Wanderers.

So, like Roberto, Coyle has been unlucky with injuries. But he failed to recruit effective new forwards at Bolton, just as he has at Wigan. I really don’t know if the pieces will eventually drop neatly into place at Wigan.

More teenage drivel. Don’t let the truth stand in the way of your personal attacks.

There are lots of things you’re not old enough to understand. It’s not so much a love of Martinez, it’s more a dislike of ridiculous criticism.

But I don’t suppose Roberto is losing much sleep over it, nor am I.

I think that Wigan benefit from attracting new supporters. Personally, I wouldn’t be so dismissive of them.

I would be in total disagreement.

Well, we do agree that midfield isn’t working.

Coyle has inherited Boyce, McArthur, Gomez, Watson, Beausejour, Espinoza and McManaman (plus Maloney too). He has added McClean, McCann, Powell and now Albrighton.

How many more players does he need to produce a working midfield?

There are a lot of replicas!

    Where is the real one?

Oh and the manager of Exeter city has gone out tonight wearing a blue tie with red stripes on.

Perhaps he’s hoping for a place on the staff at Crystal Palace. Good luck, Paul.

I think he’s doing slightly better than Roberto Martinez.

In the words of Monty Python, this is getting silly.

Premier League Everton Played 12 Lost 1 Points 21
Championship Wigan Played 15 Lost 5 Points 22

Now for something completely different. Please!

The games haven’t been terrible to watch for four years!

The team has done its best to play football, often against teams with much more skilful players. Whilst Wigan have been cutting the size of their squad and their wage bill, other teams have been vastly increasing theirs.

Wigan have found it hard to compete, but not because of any lack of effort from the manager or the players. The players collectively simply weren’t good enough to compete with other squads.

The problem today is quite different. It’s not the lack of resources, it’s the the lack of direction. The squad is overflowing with good midfield players, most of whom have Premier League experience. But the manager has failed to get them to play in any organised manner. On occasions they haven’t been involved in the play at all.

It’s a baby girl to be called Luella.

It’s all over the internet – anyone interested in football would have come across it.

As a teenager, you can hardly have been one of the 983.

    What is a ‘Buscuit’ ?

    A French biscuit. :P[/quote]

Biscuit is French for biscuit – it means twice cooked.

    Yes, the honeymoon at Everton.

Hell hath no fury like a football fan scorned.

Coyle’s motivational skills is to walk from his seat into the technical area and wave his hands around pretending to be a windmill. Perhaps he should wear a suit, he might then look the part of a manager.

Quite. Roberto would stand calmly on the touchline, quietly beckoning his players to adjust their positions by a yard here and a couple of feet there.

Coyle’s reaction to an opposition attack is to jump off the bench, wave his arms wildly in the air and shout at the players to get stuck in.

Sadly, it doesn’t seem to have the same effect on the players. They’re probably trying not to laugh. It is comical, especially when he’s wearing his match-day shorts.

Martinez back? Some people have short memories! For the first 3/4 of each season his football was as dull and clueless as what we have now.

The Premier League is another world.

But under Martinez, our midfield players would have run circles round most Championship sides.
