I’m sure I read somewhere a while ago, that Hamilton rate him as a better player than McCarthy.
The way I heard it was that it was pre-meditated in that he went into the game with the intention to take a dive and see if he got a decision because of the way Dean refs his games. Yes players have admitted they’ve taken a dive and its been missed, but to admit you planned for it and get away without punishment is disgraceful.
Speaking of refs, has anyone realised that the authorities now given the green light for all players to dive and deliberately con refs. I say that, because Martin Olsson apparently admitted he would take a dive if he got the chance because Mike Dean has given more pens than any other PL ref….yet the Premier League and/or FA have done nothing, when they should have given him a 5 game ban for bringing the game into disrepute.
I’d love to know what West Ham actually hope to achieve with this complaint…Fulham at worst will only get fined around £25K which makes no difference to teams around West Ham, is that what the Hammers want or do they want Fulham to be forced to turn out their “strongest” line up in their remaining games, one of which is West Ham at the Cottage?
In fairness to the West Ham fans, reading some of their MB’s, the majority of them are ashamed of their club for doing this. Even Zola has come out and said he hasn’t got a problem with what Fulham did. Seems its only a small number of WHU fans and those clowns Sullivan and Gold who are whinging.
After tonight’s result I should think Fulham will rest some players against us…..lord help us if we go there and get a result, Sullivan and Gold will be calling for Fulham to be thrown out of the league and all their results to be declared void.
*thinks Fulham v West Ham later in season could be very tasty
……or else they’ll award West Ham Utd 50 points and get them into the Champions League next year. Either that or ourselves, Burnley, Hull and Wolves will all start next week on 0 points, just to ensure the Hammers cant be relegated.
Doesn’t matter about them having a chance, the 2nd leg is next week, so its well before our game against them. If Barca play anything like the football they did last night, they’ll get 6. I can’t see them creating the same amount of chances and slipping up again. Only for Almunia that game would have been over after 20 minutes.
With a record like that, how the hell is he a Spanish U21 international? I’d have thought the Spanish league would have been full of decent young strikers.
Don’t know his address, but maybe email Stuart Hayton….obviously he’s nothing to do with the Juniors, but I’m sure he’d point you in the right direction.
Was there nothing on the club website to say it was postponed? Presume it was meant to coincide with the reserve game which apparently the club announced well before KO that the game was off.
Agree totally, the PL would love it if us and Pompey went down. That said, I genuinely think we will stay up…the Bolton game apart, we’ve shown that we can play a bit recently and seem to have that bit of fight about us, even though we’ve lost against both Villa and City…we actually played reasonably well in those games and were beaten by a good side in Villa and a world class footballer in Tevez
Sad thing is Vat, you’re spot on…..we all know that decision was a joke, but if we appeal Caldwell will get an extra game.
Hull, Burnley and Pompey for me….however, now Phil Brown’s left Hull I dont mind them staying up with West Ham going down in their place. Pompey somehow surviving at the expense of Bolton or Blackburn would make it even better, would love to see the Fat One get relegated….in fact having Diouf in their team should mean instant relegation
If the report says “scissor tackle” which is deemed as dangerous, then we’ve every right to appeal. Whatever you make of it, it wasn’t a scissor tackle.
